New Player

I opened the game up looking for a 6th players.  Tell your friends about it. If you see a player's application that you like or want to recommend, post about it here.   Also if you any another thoughts such as, " I don't want to add a 6th player" you can post that here too. I go back and forth between wanting to added a player and wanting to finish with the 5 I started with.  That being said, this point of the game is the best place to added a 6th player so if am going to do it, I am going to do it here so I figured I should at least look. :)
I have no qualms about adding a sixth, but I would really, really, really hope they play a class that brings in healing. Doesn't have to be a dedicated healer, but something else then buying wands.
I'm in the same boat as Jacob on this one.
I've put a good deal of thought into the new player over the last week and I'm going to post the points that are sticking in my head. Not trying to make up someones mind either way just want to list out pros and cons to the addition. This list isn't exhaustive just some of the thoughts I have bumping around my head currently. I'll probably add to it throughout the process. Pros: New people. Good to meet more people with the same hobby. Healer: This is of course dependent upon the choice of the new person. But that being said..having seen high level play in pathfinder, a concern I'm having for this group is that the damage we're taking will far outpace what we can realistically heal with a wand. And while character death is a real possibility that should be on the table, I'm not sure I want the game to become rocket tag on steroids (I.e. If we don't kill the opponents in a single round before they get a turn we are going to have major problems). To be clear this isn't a fear of you Danny (You're a great DM and I fully trust you to scale things to our party), but rather a flaw (every system has them) I've noticed with the Pathfinder system as a whole. And as it stands now we do not have an effective way to counter a lot of the things having a dedicated healer would help us deal with and is one reason I see that we really need to fix that. I agree with Jacob and Tom to a point but I think a dedicated healer should be prioritized over other classes or concepts. More roleplay opportunities: Introducing another character with different views and different outlooks to the party could be a beneficial thing. We have a pretty good dynamic as a party and hopefully a new character would be able to fit right into it without too much difficulty. Neutrals: Group Dynamic: I'm putting this here because it could go either way. We have a pretty strong group dynamic, I think we are all either friends or becoming friends at this point and we work pretty well together. While we haven't done it in a while we have done other things together as a group and it works pretty well. I am concerned about another person coming in because we don't know how it goes. They could very well become another brick in the wall with us or it could become a stickler. I personally think the positives outweigh the negatives in this situation but I can't deny there are potential negatives. Cons: Time: No other way to really put this. With another person that means another turn in the sequence of events. Another person taking their moments in the spotlight or their turn in combat will inevitably take time. Not saying its deal-breaking it is just an inevitable part of adding more people. Ultimately I think my vote will be to go for a 6th player as a dedicated healer
My personal preference, I would prefer to keep it at 5 people, but that is my personal taste as I've grown fond of this group being as close knit as it is, and from past experiences have had a bad time with bringing more people into a game.
While I'm ok with us remaining at 5, I am open to the idea of adding a 6th. I think after the haunted house we're all a bit spooked when it comes to having some sort of healing force within the party but personally I'd welcome just about anything we don't already have. I'd like to see what people can bring to the table. I know bringing someone new in is always a little awkward for all parties but the point made that this would be the time to bring someone in if we want really is a good one.
I want selecting a new player to have your input.   Everyone, that wants to, please read over the new applications and give me your top three and rank them 1,2,3.  (1 is your top, then 2nd, and last is 3rd). For the list, use the players roll20 name. :)

1: Land Stander, as long as he's willing to play a healy-dealie.  (Mentioned that he didn't like clerics, don't know if that's due to it's healing or what, didn't specify.) 2: WolfrikM 3: Tof M
