The historians call this our darkest time. Dictators and evil have risen in the past, but we have been united to meet it before, but not today. This age was dawned with a vanishing light in the sky: The star of the Goddess Devina, lady of autumn and the patron of hope and courage. It would have been nothing more than an astronomical anomoly for Scholars of L'Acadamie Esoterique on the Isle of Lac Kithas, if not for the darkness that grew in the east, seemingly with no end. Over the last generation, a madman has risen to rule the greatest nation of the east, one who claims to own the legacy of a time long past, and with its power, has subjugated all the people east of the Lydion mountains and west of the River Vhlakes. His eyes turn now, to the West, and his actoins to rule the last of the free in eldra are without doubt. Should our old alliances forged at the dawn of the third era hold fast, we could have fought the rise of this "Emporer of Man," but the failings of our own people have led us to splinter, and offer no resistance to this shadow. Worse still, in our own lands, cults dedicated to deities of a terrible, nearly forgotten foe have arisen. Some among the hopeful claim that it is not Devina who left us, but we who left Devina, and she still waits to show us that Hope, however fragile it may appear, never vanishes. Hello, Nerds! I posted a feeler a little while back with some good response for a historical low-fantasy game, and I've made enough progress that I feel confident in saying I expect to begin playing within the next two weeks, So i've modified my LFG posting to be a little more direct! (dont let the base roster fool you, i've not selected anyone to play long term. They're just there to look at things and see if it fits them!) What I'm doing: I'm looking to run a low fantasy game that is inspired by the themes of hope and the grand journey in workds like Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. I have carefully and meticulously homebrewed the rules to this end, using established, major published sources to do so. I can promise for the accepted player a great, well-balanced game in a deep, heavilly written setting. I'm a wizard with Roll20 scripting and design, and will include all altered rules, as they come up, in easy to visit hand-outs. As a dm, i have about 20 years of experiance (started when i was a little squirt, and took to DMing almost immediately). I follow a sort of hybrid level of autonomy, in that I'll place restrictions that reinforce a theme, but strive to follow the rule of "yes" for player agency. I'll promise respect and easy to understand table rules, with input of all accepted players to those table rules. Please feel free to contact me by email (<a href="mailto:M.H.Taylor@protonmail.com" rel="nofollow">M.H.Taylor@protonmail.com</a>), PM, or via the LFG forums for my game! Thank you very much for your interest! :)
