[LFG][D&D 5e][CST][West Marches] Seeking 10-15 players for a West Marches campaign!

Edited 1517696146
This game is a West Marches campaign set in the assumed 4th edition setting, the [Nentir Vale]( http://dnd4.wikia.com/wiki/Points_of_Light "Nentir Vale") (also called the Points of Light setting). The [West Marches]( http://arsludi.lamemage.com/index.php/78/grand-experiments-west-marches/ ) style of game is essentially a sandbox campaign with no set party, no set DM, and no set game day. You, as a player, choose when you want to play and what you want to do. Did your character find a treasure map that leads to a nearby castle in the last game? Invite a party of friends to help you seek it out, find a DM to run it, agree on a game time, and voila! If you join this game, you'll be joining the Red Hand Club, a small but growing group of gamers and friends who enjoy playing games and talking with one another. We have a Discord server were we chat about all sorts of cool things and play all kinds of games! There are currently 2 regular games ongoing, and on Tuesday nights we play a rotating mini-campaign for any games that we want to try out. We also have a twice-monthly Board Game Night via Tabletop Simulator on Thursdays, and now we want to add a West Marches campaign to our repertoire! Some of our players only do text games (which have the advantage of being far richer in character development and roleplay, while having the disadvantage of taking quite a lot longer than other games, usually 3-4 sessions as opposed to 1). It's not required that you be okay with playing in text-based games, but it's certainly a huge plus! This style of game allows players and DM to avoid the fatigue that comes with playing a regular D&D game every week, waiting to be fed information by the DM, and going through the motions. We're seeking 10-15 more players to join us and experience the West Marches style. Please apply using the template below. Please read both the information on the West Marches style of game and the Nentir Vale campaign setting. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Player rules: Everyone has 1 main character. When you reach 3rd level with your main, you can make one alternate character. You may only have 1 alternate character. Each character starts at 1st level. Characters may be created with everything from the Player's Handbook, plus 1 extra official WotC book (commonly called the PHB+1 method). Characters must use the standard array or point-buy system for generating ability scores. Players must be at least 18 years of age. Zero tolerance for flaming, personal attacks, trolling, hate speech, or harassment. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Time Zone: Experience with RPGs: Roleplaying Style: Text, voice, or both?: Willing to DM?: DM Style: Tell me a little bit about yourself, your hobbies, and why you'd be a good fit for the game.

Name: David Time Zone: CST Experience with RPGs: 12+ years playing/DMing in D&D (since 3.5), playing/watching various other RPG rulesets Roleplaying Style: I lean more towards role-play than roll-play, but both have their place in the game. Text, voice, or both?: Can do both, but prefer voice. Willing to DM?: Occasinally, yes. I DM a game on Tuesday nights, and am looking for a chance to play. DM Style: Laid back, I don't mind occasionally bending the published rules if it makes sense in a game. I prefer to let the group tell me what they want to do, instead of railroading. Tell me a little bit about yourself, your hobbies, and why you'd be a good fit for the game. I'm a workaholic, and when I'm not DMing for my regular group, I watch a lot of Twitch and play Overwatch. I think I would be a good fit into your group at large because I can bring some interesting characters in, and jump in to help with DMing and other things.
Welcome to the group, David!
Name: Kirk Time Zone: EST Experience with RPGs: Several years of playing on and off with friends and schoolmates Roleplaying Style: . I enjoy playing a support role not really taking center stage but helping the other players reach greater heights Text, voice, or both?: Voice all the way Willing to DM?: would love to but its mostly how I end up playing, I would like to take on a long term game as a player. That said I have a great campaign and new ideas if anyone wants to try something new DM Style: I enjoy mechanics, lots of mini games, puzzles and challenges. Tell me a little bit about yourself, your hobbies, and why you'd be a good fit for the game. I would like to think I'm pretty chill/agreeable not a lot bothers me and I'm cool with heading in what ever direction the group wants to go (be like the leaf in the wind and all that jazz). I've been playing a ton of board games as of recent (Xwing and Imperial Assault) Video Game wise I play a bit of everything but recently have been in a big Overwatch Kick (I see and Overwatch player already posted I could talk about Mercy changes for days) As far as the group goes I hope to fill in where needed and play the role to help everyone have a ton of fun.
