Name: Alejandro Age: 34 Timezone: CST A little background about yourself : I am a Catholic Priest. I pastor 2 small rural churches and play DnD and other games as my creative outlet/relaxation. I love to read, lift weights and learn. Spend most of my time doing counseling, tending to my two small churches and teaching. D&D Experience: Been playing DnD for 19 years. Character Idea: Alastair Orvino. Human or Half-Elf rogue (charlatan background) aiming for Inquisitive or Mastermind. Son of professional swindlers Alastair was taught the tools of the "trade" early on. What at first seemed just to be a game, as he grew up he realized to be a way of life and worse, frowned upon. His parents had always told him that their schemes targeted only the greedy...until they got caught. Trying to swindle a retired adventurer they were found out and captured. Alastair still being a youth was adopted by the grizzled old adventurer who mentored him and taught him to use his skills for good. Now Alastair hires himself out as a PI of sorts and lends his services to law enforcement as an infiltrator acquiring information. Alastair is known for his extroversion and flair, quick with a sly word and even quicker with to be distracted by feminine beauty he eases his conscience by doing good, while fighting the selfishness and greed instilled in him by his parents. Alastair uses a false identity when interacting with the underworld in order to keep those he has come to love safe (Charlatan background feature.) I am not married to a character in particular, this is just one of a billion character ideas ive wanted to play for a while. Another option could be the following: Character Name: Karthos Morcael Character Race: Aasimar (Fallen) Character Class: Warlock (Hexblade) Background: Dead Backstory: Karthos was once a proud Oath of Vengeance Paladin. His will was iron, and his will was to end evil...but in war who isn't guilty of atrocities? In the midst war Karthos took up arms at first in defense of his nation, but his nation proved to be just as corrupt as all the others; then kept fighting for his friends, but they proved fickle and weak; finally stripped of all but his faith and ideals he threw himself into the rhythm of the war. In his last battle, surrounded by dead allies, outnumbered and outmatched, in a brief moment of despair as his enemies plunged their blades in, Karthos heard what seemed to be a final delusion before death, his prized blade sliding from his grasp, he hears a dark whisper in the deep, like a claw clutching his heart before it's last beat and it promised: "I can give you the power to shape the world as your god never could...accept me." Immediately darkness embraced him and he did not find himself in the promised reward of his god...in his horror, floating in the thick darkness of the unknown, he realized he had accepted the offer. Floating aimlessly in a flash of dark after what seemed like an eternity... Karthos opened his eyes, returned to life apparently by the very entity who had tempted him as he fell. Panic set in, sadness, anger, fear...Karthos found himself in a shallow grave digging his way out all the while realizing his sword was still there where he fell. Once his fingers pierced through to the surface a second horror...his divine spark, the light that once shone from his skin has been replaced by wisps of shadow, and upon concentrating for a moment it seems that a well of deep dark energy sits at the pit of his soul instead of the radiance of the god he once served. Karthos has been returned to the world and now has to re-evaluate the whole purpose of his existence, his life and what it means. Who is this dark entity and what does it want of me? How long was I dead? Perhaps...perhaps I can finally vanquish the great evils of the world this time around...
