Hi there,
My name Chris and I am looking to hire a Pathfinder GM to run games for myself
and 1 or 2 additional people (2 to 3 players total). Here are the specifics:
1. Pathfinder
2. Adventure Path of mutual consent
3. Saturday or Sunday. Once per week. If we could start around 5 PM PST that
would let us invite an additional friend. Otherwise, an earlier start may be
OK.
4. Rules as Written. Some very minimal house rules might be OK, but beyond
using Hero Points and some of the Unchained Options, we want this to be RAW. We
all know the rules have issues at times, but keeping things RAW greatly reduces
misunderstandings and arguments.
5. Focus on RP over combat (although, of course, it's still a combat game)
6. Allow characters to die. Be a fan of the characters and help them out, but
when the characters really screw up or the dice are just against them, it's
time for negative consequences. Rebuilds to be at the same level and to be
worked back into the story as it makes sense.
7. Focus on fun/comedy/hanging out. Although most of the RPing will be serious
in nature, but there is still a lot of comedy to be had when things go wrong.
8. Show up ready to play at least 75% of the time. 90% or more would be ideal.
If it gets much below 75% for a sustained period, that's not going to work for
us. The players all have serious, demanding jobs and look forward to the game
all week, so it's a real kick to the groin to have the GM bail on multiple
sessions in a row.
9. Due to there only being 2 or 3 players in APs designed for 4 to 6, players
will be beefed up. If 3 players, probably Gestalt and 25 point builds. If 2
players, probably Gestalt, 3 free Hero Point feats at start, plus 50 or 60
point builds using a point combination of the Race Builder system and Ability Point
purchases. We are open to talking about other ways to keep a really small group
alive. It's a delicate balance in making the characters powerful but not
overpowered.
10. Sessions to be 5 or 6 hours long, with several 5 minute breaks and usually
one 15 minute break to keep it all fresh and fun.
11. $20/hour for actual game time played
12. Payments by Paypal
13. Interfaces through R20 and whatever works for voice, usually Discord
14. GM is expected to voice characters, have tokens and cutouts (pics) to post
of the main people featured in the AP, and to have AP-included maps prepped
ahead of time. Dynamic Lighting and special effects are fun, but not needed.
15. GM is expected to communicate throughout the week, although we respect if
that communication is very brief or limited, or he has to say "Hey, I'll
look at it later"
16. GM to respect the players and their choices, but also feel free to put the
players in their place and make meaningful, decisive rulings. GM is a member of
the group as well and needs to be having fun. If not, then we need to change
things to make that happen.
17. We are very picky. If you get interviewed, don't expect to get hired. If
you get hired, don't expect to stay hired :) But seriously,
we would love to hear from you. We are looking for someone who is a good
long-term fit.
18. Respond by Personal Message. Don't post below.
19. See #18 above.
Take care!
This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $20/hour
which will be paid weekly following each session through Paypal. Roll20 is not
responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private
arrangements.
