Just got pro, now everything is REALLY REALLY SLOW!

I think i may have to request refund or figure this out because i can no longer runs sessions cause of this issue, which started when I upgraded.  Everytime I start working on a session or try to session with my group, after about 30 mins everything slows WAY DOWN.  I mean it takes 20 seconds for me to type in initiative because and the amount of time increases based on how long I have been in session.  I can't run 30 min sessions too short, and if I try to run a session longer it slows to a crawl, and if it takes a minute when i press a dice roll, for it to load the dice roll, something is wrong.  This never happened when I had a free account and didn't show up until shortly after I upgraded.  At first I thought it was on my end, but i would open up other sites, and it would load my typing instantly, try to type in roll 20 and it happens at a huge delay.

Hi Brent,  difficult to say what might be the main reason for your problems. Some things you might want to try: - There have been issues both with the latest versions of Firefox and Chrome browser recently. You might want to switch from Chrome to Firefox or vice versa and see if this helps. Especially the latest FF version (58) has some problems with character sheets in combination with its autofill function - You probably are using some of the Pro features, like advanced fog of war or dynamic lighting - these functions can be real performance hogs. Try switching it of and see if things are running more smoothly. You can also try to optimise your paths on the dynamic light layer.  - A lot of character with character sheets can also slow down your VTT. Unfortunately, just archiving doesn't do the trick. The best solution here: Create a second game as "storage" and use the transmogrifier to copy unused characters to the storage game, then delete them in the main game. - Large maps with lots of separate elements slow down things as well. If you have a lot of elements on your map layer, try combining them into one single image, e.g. with Photoshop or GIMP  Hope any of this might help!
One thing a player of mine did was to make a new copy of the old game and then things went smooth again. Have no idea why. :P
So far switching to chrome seems to help, it's just weird how it progressively gets worse as time goes on, that part doesn't make sense to me.  Can't think from a computer science stand-point, unless there was loading in the background that doesn't happen til at least 30 minutes into a session and then gets worse slowly over the course of an hour is weird.  Chrome seems to be the better fit at the moment however.
I'm experiencing the same issue. Firefox starts out nice and snappy but after about 20-30 minutes it starts lagging. Chrome is slow from the get-go (but I've always had issues with Chrome and Roll20, especially if Dynamic Lighting is enabled on a map.)

Yes, dynamic lighting and (even worse) advanced fog of war can slow down things quite a bit. You can try to optimise the paths on the DL layer. Don't use the circle/ellipse tool, but the polygon tool. Try reducing the amount of points in the paths, keeping them as simple as possible. If your map is rather big, you can also try to split it up into two separate pages.
