When I load the Triboar map, I get all the tokens but can only click on the NPS's none of the monsters. It is like they are on a different layer. I am very new to this program, sorry if this is beyond basic.

Try changing to the  GM layer and see if you can click on them. If they are transparent (see-through) they are probably on that layer.

I would get really familiar with CTRL + O and CTRL + K. These are your two hotkeys for switching between the token (Players) layer and the GM (hidden) layer.

Or you can activate the  advanced shortcuts . Then you can move tokens between the layers, switch layers etc quickly.
