"Click-Through" on Same Layer + Selected Object Highlighting

Right now, you can have multiple objects on top of each other on the same layer. To reach an object on the map layer that's below another object, the only option is to move the top layer object out of the way, click on the object underneath to make adjustments, and then drag the top object back over it. For example, if I have a semi-transparent fog image above my map on the Map Layer and I need to get to the map to change something, I need to temporarily move the fog out of the way. It looks bad for players. It would be very convenient to be able to click multiple times on an object to "click-through" all objects on top of each other in the same layer , so we don't have to move objects out of the way.  Similarly, it can be difficult to tell which object you have selected when two objects of the same size overlap each other on the same layer. In the GM view, it would help if we could toggle selected object highlighting , where objects we have selected are tinted in some color so we can tell very clearly whether we're selecting the giant Troll or the player character climbing on it.
