Hello! I'm writing for a group of friends looking forward to a fantastic adventure. We've all been creating characters and roleplaying through other venues-- mostly text-based for a long time and have been wanting to jump in to the source. The one that started it all. Dungeons & Dragons. But although some of us have played D&D before, none of us feel confident enough to DM. This is where you come in! We want to tell a story, collaboratively, with your help. The whole hero's journey from humble beginnings to its climactic and over-the-top ending. We're a chill group averaging 28 years of age. We're mature on the whole but we haven't forgotten the purpose here is to have fun and disconnect and escape for an evening. As a group, we understand less is more--> no powergaming or mary-sue characters, but fun to play and deep characters to adventure with. We're non-confrontational, familiar enough with the dynamics of D&D to know that the DM's word is law and the flow of the game and the story more important than any rules bickering or other such nonesense. We understand the amount of time and effort DM'ing requires and promise to both respect and reciprocate that effort with our own in the form of living, fun characters to interact with. As far as the Combat/RP split the ideal for us would be at 40/60 but that's not a hard and fast rule. Anyway, if this sounds like a group you'd like to try your hand with then send me a PM or reply here. Either way, thanks for reading, and take it easy, my friend.
