I've been searching for games and I thought I'd post my player introduction here and link it, thus saving time and also increasing my chances of finding a group by showing my interest in the forums. First, more about me. I'm a 36 year old male in the EST time zone and can make myself available easily for 5-6 hours a week on week nights (except mondays) but with a clear preference for weekends (Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays). I'm a Roll20 Kickstarter backer who never really was able to find a group that fit his schedule and had only applied to maybe 4 or 5 games that didn't pan out through the years. But now, I'm finding I have more free time and no more IRL group to scratch that RP itch, so here I am. About my roleplayer experience I'm from a small town so RPGs were a popular activity. I've been playing such games since 8 years old. It started with MERPG and I was only interested in rolling dices. My friends and I were lucky to have access to a very good DM who didn't have access to better players, so we were hooked from the start ! I have played every edition of DnD and other systems like WFRPG, all the WH40K RPG systems (Dark Heresy, Rogue Traders, etc.), Shadowrun, GURP, Call of Ch'tulu, Battletech, Pathfinder and probably a couple others I forget. I'm not particular to any system even though the one I always play the most is and always will be DnD (for its popularity). I do enjoy sci-fi as much as fantasy, but I am admittedly less fluent with sci-fi characters unless we're talking Shadowrun or Warhammer 40K, since I know most bits of lore that exist in those worlds. I know and enjoy how RPGs work. I realize how it is harder and thus more rewarding to be able to create an interesting story by mixing up ideas from a group of persons instead of a solitary writer (I used to spend a lot of time trying to write a lot of what I hoped could be good stories) and that's the thing that motivates me the most in playing such games with total strangers online. I enjoy realistic, low magic games just as much as their opposite. I'm a mature, easy going and very curious person with a lot of varied interests in life, so I'm in it as much to be able to have the spot light as I am in it to witness other interesting characters taking the spot light and having their own time to shine. I do respect the DM's work, since I have been a DM myself for the vast majority of the games my friends and I have played through the years. I believe that is because I was also the only one with such dedication and enjoyment in the creation of made up stories ;) My RP style is a mix of passive and active roleplaying. I do like to do my characters' more important speeches actively, but I also use a lot of passive roleplay to set the mood and/or intention of my character's actions, often in the same scene. What's more to say ? I have a good sense of humour and know when to use it and when not to use it ? I love watching and listening to other people's stories unfolding (and participating) just as much as being the center of interest for a while and letting others join in the fun ? That I believe it isn't that hard to find a fun group to play with ? So yeah, don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in learning more about me or to invite me to your game. I'll always be honest with my interest or lack thereof in your campaign and group. I'm not shy and I'm not interested in having myself or others wasting their time, we're in it to have fun and that's not always possible with every group and there should be no hard feelings if that's the case. Have fun, hit me up !
Water is gone. No more food. Ammo is low...and you are still being hunted. Welcome to the Sticks . The wasteland known as "The Pit" is a dangerous place; filled with vicious and desperate people looking to trade, con or bleed you out of what's yours. We have a campaign that has been running for several months and would like to open it up to few more people. This isn't a typical "find the quest" adventure style campaign. We are looking for players that enjoy playing deep characters with flaws and room to grow along with the ability to make them interesting to everyone else at the table. People that like to delve into the PC's mind and overcome personal emotional trials all the while confronting the disadvantages the setting delivers into a positive outcome. What we are looking for are people that enjoy playing serious characters similar to The Last of Us rather than action heroes/silly voiced Resident Evil types. This campaign has a serious, mature tone. Fart jokes at the funeral is best left to other games. It's a harsh and gritty Post Apocalypse sandbox campaign with a strong focus on surviving in a strange and dangerous place where your meaningful choices have a lasting impact. The ramifications of death in a game like Call of Duty are rarely if ever felt but in this campaign death can be a scaring experience both physically and emotionally. If you have enthusiasm for this kind of play please keep reading and click the link below! Player Responsibilities: Must gather intel. The world is harsh and many try to take advantage of others especially the desperate. Locations, settlements and virtually all NPCs are guarded. Don't look to the GM to fill in the blanks, warn you of impending danger by giving tells, or where/how to gather info. Proactively engineer desired results whether social or practical. Examples of this are to not to look for a magic negotiation roll to solve a trade when you have nothing to offer an NPC. Nor expect the GM to provide handouts to help you achieve your goal. YOU MUST CREATE YOUR OWN WAY TO SUCCESS. Remain in character! What you say over the mic matters. Speaking about what you would like to do OOC doesn’t count and NPCs will react to it. SET GOALS & WORK TOWARDS THEM! Think of what you want for your character and how they can fit into the group. Don't hide your goals. This is not a single player game. Talk with the other PCs and make sure you all have similar goals and work to make it happen. Your personal goals should be supporting the groups main goal. Must be 21+ years old. Campaign Focus Thrust into a dangerous place will you make allies? How will you find supplies? What kind of home will you have? Combat is lethal. Healing is slow. Remaining in character as much as possible while being true to your character's motivations, goals, flaws and personality. Open World Sandbox. __________________________ Follow the link to apply for the game: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/85215/welcome-t... Thank you for your interest :) Your GM, -Keaggan
If either of these would be of interest, please let me know! Game Day/Time: TBD, EST Discord needed for voice communication: https://discord.gg/hqBcJYH Zero World: Running the Numbers is set in a near-future fictional universe in which cybernetics, magic and fantasy creatures co-exist. It combines genres of cyberpunk, urban fantasy and crime, with occasional elements of conspiracy, horror and detective fiction." Zero World: Running the Numbers aims to combine elements of Shadowrun with the typical Lord of the Rings style fantasy worlds that frequently appear in D&D. Players will travel across an altered version of modern day Earth while doing 'runs,' various mission-style sessions which are part of an overall storyline and the more they interact with and explore, the more the world around them changes along with them. I encourage players to think outside the box and get creative- anything can and will happen, and the party will just need to adapt and roll with the situation at hand. The Rules will be a combination of AD&D 2e and some minor parts drawn from Savage Worlds Or my other game: Game Time/Days- Sunday 1pm EST *Discord required for voice; same link as above The setting itself is a savage, survival-oriented world where certain resources are scarce, magic is feared and/or outlawed, and psionics run rampant. Powerful tyrants known as Sorceror Kings; near-godlike men and women who wield might and magic to control the citizens of vast city-states and their Templar agents enforce their will with brutal efficiency. Many offenses, even minor ones could result in forced labor/slavery, public torture, or worse, being sent to the gladiator pits where one must face bloodthirsty creatures and infamous pit-fighters to gain their freedom, if they somehow manage to survive...In the cities, ruthless Merchant Houses* wage gangland turf wars in attempts to dominate the struggling economy. Magically apt members of the Veiled Alliance's splinter cells launch guerrila assaults against the Sorceror Kings and their followers, gaining them the reputation of domestic terrorists. Elven hustlers hock their wares in the Elven Markets, where anything can be bought and sold for the right price. In these pop-up tent cities, the only law is coin. As for life outside the city-states, escaped slaves roam the wastelands hoping to find a place to scrape out a living among deadly monsters, raider tribes, and worse- that is, if the scorching sun doesn't kill them first. If all this isn't bad enough, a creature known as the Dragon of Tyr, an immensely powerful being roams the desert, laying waste to anything he sees fit- from Sorceror Kings to entire cities. The 'true' gods of this world have long ago abandoned it, if they ever existed on the blistering world of Athas at all- Priests worship the elemental spirits, fiendish entities, and other obscure 'religions' to gain their spells. Can you brave this world of savagery, slavery, and tyrannical oppression and rise to fame or infamy among the populace in hopes of carving out a niche of power for yourself among the mover-and-shakers of this hellish place? *After the fall of Tyr's Sorceror-King, Kalak, and the declaration that it would be the first city-state to outlaw slavery (a common practice on Athas), the region was thrown into chaos. It is from this ensuing anarchy that the West Estuary Trading Company (WET Co.) was founded by an enterprising group of adventuring mercenaries. They became the leading members of what is now one of the most profitable and deadly upstart Merchant Houses in the Tyr Region.
