So my Roll20 game is running slow...

So my Roll20 game is running slow... I think my "Journal" directory structure might be slowing my roll20 game. The reason might be that I am using character sheets as NPC tokens. I have created hundreds of characters as NPC's. These hundreds of sheets, along with handouts are in a series of folders in the Journal. This is how I run my game. Does having hundreds of character sheets slow down a roll20 game? I am open to any tips or help win my game structure.
Yes, absolutely. Especially if you are using one of the "heavier" character sheets. The best way out of this dilemma: Create a second game, call it "storage" or something like that, and use the transmogrifier to move all unused character sheets to the other game. Then you delete them in the main game. That should give you quite some performance back.
I feel your pain. Games with lots of well-fleshed NPCs are the best, but costly on resources. I have a "warehouse" game where I can park NPCs by transmogrification. They stay available, and are easy to transfer back in. When I need to just refer to them to refresh my memory, I can open the warehouse in another tab and see what I need to see. Another nifty thing that I don't use as often as I should is a picture handout, that just contains links to other handouts with pictures of NPCs. You can click a link and call up a picture and show (or not show) a few notes, without taking up much memory in the game. If you need NPC tokens without all the details, consider making a deck of cards composed of their tokens. You can deal them onto the tabletop directly. Good for monsters and mooks.
Thank you both for the great tips... I switched to the simple sheet hoping to use a less heavy sheet. I think is helped a little. A "warehouse" is a good idea BUT,,,, in the transmogrification tool it views everything by the order it was added and not A-Z makes it hard to find stuff with hundreds and hundreds to go through. Looks like my best bet is cutting up my game and making a couple other games for the other parts of my campaign. I wish their was another journal item called "NPC" (Which was just simple token holder with a notes box), that wasn't as heavy as a full character sheet. Thank you again, you guys have been very helpful.
Using a lighter sheet (OGL) helps. Transmogrifier (with storage campaign) is a great way to avoid a bloated journal, just have what you need in your live game, runs much faster. There is is a Suggestion to sort/search Transmogrifier, give it a vote :) https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2487773/transmogrifier-add-search-and-sort-options#post-4054103 If you are using Firefox you can search the Trans. pop out windows, just hit Ctrl+F

This will sort the transmogrifier: It is a bookmarklet for chrome. 1.localeCompare(name2); return comp; }) .each((i,c)=>$e.append(c)); });
