Introduce Yourself (Player, GM, or both; time zone)

Hi, I'm Barry, from Ireland (GMT winter, GMT+1 summer). I have no experience with FATE apart from reading and watching so I'm interested in playing for now, possibly in some one shots to get the hang of things. I have past experience with Warhammer Fantasy RPG and D&D 4e. More recently I've played D&D 5e and Call of Cthulhu. I'm currently DMing a 5e campaign for family.
+ Connor + PST Hi im connor, i mostly play D&D but recently i have wanted something less linear. FATE opens this for me since its so open and undefined so i decided to try and its really fun. im open to all types of games and im trying to be a dm so yeh thanks for the invite

I'm Trevor, a really experienced GM of tabletops, but I enjoy playing, too. I've played a lot of systems so being here is more about being part of an RP community for me, regardless of the system. Thanks for the invite! (Time Zone EST)
hi i'm maha thanks from me too EST here
GM and Player Timezone: GMT+1 (Germany) Ok i World Group, i am stund at that´s but very nice. Play aktive then 2001 most the time DSA, the last time i am going to play some Indy systems. After my first Fate round i like the system and now i am GM two rounds every Week. Thanks for the invite
Hey everybody! Time zone: EST I'd consider myself a player but I haven't actually played yet. I'm familiar with rping (some D&D experience) and have the rule book but have never played an actual game of Fate.
Hello, My name is Sean, I'm in the EST (GMT-5) timezone (though I think clocks are springing forward tonight). I've played a very small amount of FATE and am looking to play more, maybe even GM once I get the hang of it.
Salutations from Brazil! I'm Rodrigo Machado, I'm in the GMT-3 timezone. I am both a Player and GM of FATE system. I usually prefer to focus on the Accelerated one, but i am versatile. Looking forward to having games with you guys.
Hello all, I'm Lucas. I'm up to Play or GM, though I'm gonna need some time to get over GM burnout as of this posting. My Time Zone is CST/CDT (GMT -6/-5), and I'm usually free if I know in advance when (unless it's Tuesday or Thursday). As for my experience playing Fate, I started out with a Superheroes game using the Venture City rules. Then I played another one based in the same universe. Then another one. Then... well, to sum it up, I've only really played two non-Venture City game. Each and every one of these games has been with roughly the same group of about five people. I'm open to most genres of games, although I obviously have a soft spot for Superhero games. I tend to have a preference for modern games, but It's not an especially strong one. In terms of communication apps, I can pretty easily use the built in Roll20 voice chat, or Discord. I refuse to put Skype back on my computer. Looking forward to getting some more Fate in my life, and hopefully making a few new friends. And of course, thanks for the invite!
Hello! Name: David MK. Player/GM: I'm both a GM and a Player. Timezone: Central Time (Eastern Iowa) Experience: I've played and GM'ed a number of Fate games, including: several one-shot creations, Diaspora, Strands of Fate, Bulldogs!, and a mini-campaign of War of Ashes. Game in the Works: "Armageddon Accelerated: It’s You vs. the End Times & the Life You Left Behind." Kind of like Miami Vice meets Spawn before the end of the 20th century.
Name: Kiraah Player/GM: I'm interested in being a player but would like to GM after I've played a bit. Timezone: PST XP: I've read most of the rulebook for FATE: Core and watched some live plays of it. The Tabletop episode of Wil Wheaton and guests playing it is what made me interested in playing, though I'd heard of the game previously. I've played D&D 5e, Dungeon World, Pathfinder, and All Flesh Must Be Eaten to various extents. I've GMed all of those at various levels. I've read the rules to all of those as well as to Misspent Youth, Clink, Top Secret: New World Order, Tales From The Loop, Witchcraft, White Star, and Stars Without Number 2e. I've yet to play or run a sci-fi game, even though it's my preferred genre, so I'm hoping I'll get to do that with FATE.
Name: Katrina (I prefer Kat) Player or GM: Player, I'm brand new to FATE and I'm much more comfortable playing until I get the hang of the game. Timezone: EST Experience: I've played D&D for about a year and half now so I'm familiar with role-playing. I also have the PDF of the core rulebook and have read through most of it, as well as watched some playthroughs on Youtube. I'm a quick learner and love the idea of the FATE rpg system. As much as I like combat, I find building a character and watching them grow and change so much more exciting. Fantasy/Sci-Fi are my go-to genres but I'm down for anything.
Hi everyone my name is Flip. Ive played d&d for twenty years mostly as a dm. I want to try a new system. I would be a noob player in pst time zone. I would like to find a game for Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks for the invite!

Hello, I'm Tim. I've GMed and played Fate. I'm in Florida Eastern Time. They just passed a law to never leave daylight saving time so we'll see how that works. I've run Venture City, a Dresden one shot and a Fate homebrew campaign I called Star Hunters using Diaspora for setting generation but Fate Core for the game. I thought I'd test out Roll20 by running Save Game and see how it works. I'm also about to start playing in a Dresden Accelerated game. I have a bit to learn and see there is a Fate page on the Roll20 wiki. I do have a question. What is something you wish had been included in the Fate help page? Thanks Tim

Hi everyone, new player here. I have experience with Dresden Files, home-brew FAE and Fate Core (always a GM, never a player though) and 20 odd years from other RPGs. I'm on the US west coast (PST) and looking for some late evening gaming action. Whoop whoop!

Greetings, Hydrax here. Coming at you from CST. Evenings work best except Thursdays. I'm new to Table Top Rpg's. Looking for group who can teach me the Fate system. Have some experience with message board free form rpg's. I'm into Transformers, Super Heroes & Villains, Mechs, 40k, other Science Fiction, and Fantasy settings. Also play Video games, board games, and watch movies.
Hi, I am Sen. I am on est, NYC. And I hope to learn more about fate, I am free to play from 6pm to 10pm during the week. And generally open on the weekends. Thanks for consideration.
Hello, I'm Sophie. I mainly play and prefer playing for now. GMT+2. I used to play a lot of Fudge, compared to that I'm a bit more inexperienced with Fate but willing to learn. I'm very interested in playing Dresden files, the rpg books have been collecting dust on my bookshelf for age's and it's about time to dust them off. I'm pretty versatile when it comes to characters and I'm much more of a spontaneous and improvising player than a technical one, I like to immerse myself in the character and follow his or her lead... Even though it might be a stupid move. ;)
Hey, my name is Saulo. Brazilian here (GMT -3), I would love to play/know more about fate, although my english is not that great (maybe I can use it as an aspect "Speaks a weird english"). I can play almost any setting or character, provided it is fun and/or layd back, also I have a little aversion to OP characters and MMO like games ("hey you, go tank that big weird boss with some great loot!") I enjoy GMing also, and if my accent (and timezone) does not pose a problem I would love to partake in some games (also I can improve my english speaking). Thanks...

Hi I am Sen! I like cats, books, and video games, oh and this role playing game stuff. I am a player. I'll be 30 soon. My time zone is Eastern Standard Time US. I am free mostly on the weekends. During the week 7pm to 11pm EST. I am new to fate, only played a few games, and I am a long time DnD5th and world of darkness player for soon to be 5 years. I like making characters that support a team. Killing things for loot. Is not my idea of fun. I am 100% open to feedback on play style, or how a group gels together. For example one Gm has a No out of character for voice rule. So we post out of character quips into text chat. Thanks for your consideration. Sen.

Hey. I am new to FATE and looking for some guidance and something to start out with to get an idea how the game plays. Be it a 1 on 1 session or a campaign that will help newcomers. I am EST based, generally available noon through night; otherwise, scheduling is not an issue for me most of the time. I heavily prefer roleplay over mechanics, I intend to get immersed in a detailed character without much OOC influence. I only play text-based games, I cannot do voice. Feel free to contact me here or on Discord at Ekizius#0912. Thank you.
Hi all, I'm Matt, from NY, EST (GMT-4). All of my experience in RPGs has come from D&D (3.5E, 4E & 5E) and Dark Dungeons. I'm really intrigued by FATE's more narrative approach, and would like to try it as a player. I think this is probably a system that I'd enjoy GMing, but that'll have to wait until I have more experience. I enjoy fantasy settings, but I'm interested to branch out from this and try Sci Fi, super-powers, detective, or other settings. I have about 4 years experience role playing, and while my schedule is not always consistent, I typically know it far in advance. In D&D, my best characters were monks or rogues, but as I said, I'm eager to branch out. Outside of roleplaying, I like to keep things friendly and inclusive at the table. As a player, I'm organized, but not always the fastest to grasp mechanics. I've read the Fate core book, so I'm not coming in blind, but I have yet to play. You can count on me to be an eager role player. Currently, I'm most interested in one shots or 3-4 session arcs. Thanks for reading! Looking forward to playing with you. Best, Matt
Hi, I'm Kevin I'm in the EST time zone and I'm relatively flexible on my schedule and I'm an experience roleplayer, though mainly with D&D. I've played almost every edition they've had other than first. I've also played other games like the classic marvel super hero rpg, Star Wars and their many iterations of rpgs, shadowrun, and others. I've never played FATE but I'm super excited to play in my first FATE game. I own a few of the FATE Core books so and have watched some videos of rpg sessions so I wont be totally green to the game. I like to RP a lot and im a dependable player schedule wise. Thank you for your time and consideration -Kevin
Hey everyone, I'm Michael I have a lot of experience with D&D 3.5 and 5th editions and have been branching out recently, learning and experiencing new systems, stories, and worlds (Star Wars FFG, Mutant Epoch, Degenesis Rebirth, etc.). I love the Dresden Files and would be very much interested in finding a group for the Dresden Files Fate game. I'm in the Pacific Time Zone and have a fairly flexible schedule as far as day of the week availability.
Hey there! I'm from South Africa (gmt+2) and am looking to play Fate Accelerated with others in or around the same timezone. I have no rpg experience but have done a LOT of studying around FAE and RPG in general. So a new-ish group with some patience and keen to grow with experience would be great. If youre a FAE GM or beginner Fate player, please pm me so we csn start forming a group. Otherwise, check with your group if theyd be open to me joining :)

Hello, I am from Western Balkans (CET [GMT+1]) I was very fond of D&D, then (about 8 years ago) I was introduced to Altrenity RPG which i love for the generic settings, but when I discovered FATE (about 3 years ago) I was stunned. Currently FATE core is the only system I play. I am a player who is not afraid to turn GM-ing, if the opportunity arises and I am looking to join a crew of people who share my enthusiasm.
Howdy all! I am a new player in the EST [UTC-5] time zone. I am looking to play the Dresden Files RPG using the FATE Core system. I have a flexible schedule and would like to play as soon as possible. I am interested in campaigns of any length or size.
Hey, I'm Roltara + Player + Mountain Time (UTC -7) I have absolutely no experience with Fate but almost a year of experience with D&D. What got me interested was a Puffin Forest animation where he played in a Dresden Files game as a macho detective that was all brawn, no brains and convinced he was an action hero. Here's the link -----> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1jAfNUOaT4 Obviously not ready for GMing though I'm open to play any game, just be ready for some weird noob moments in advance. Thanks for the invite and I'll do my best to learn the ropes.

Hi I'm Walt. I am new to FATE though I have owned both Core and Accelorated for several years and have read much of both books. I am mostly looking to be a player at the moment. EST time zone. Hi Maha, I believe I've seen you in a tavern I frequent on Wednesday nights. Nice to see someone familiar here.
Yo whats up My name is Jocssander - I like to be a player - Netherlands, current time zone Standard + Daylight saving: UTC/GMT 2+ I have been only been playing D&D recently sinds a few months ago with some of my friends, but have not been playing anyother game system then 5e D&D I like to explore and progress the games i'm in and am therefore a narritive focus player. I like to explore my options in games and can sometimes act on my own to either reach a goal or to set things up. I like to be a teamplayer, but you got to give me some advice or directions, before i make some fatal decions. Plus, for some reason i always get my party in either weird or hillarious situations. I don't really have a problem playing in any genre, but i would prefere to play fantasy or sci-fi stories, if not something with action or adventure
Hello, I'm David. I'm new to FATE, but I've played a lot of DnD (mostly 4 and 5, but a little of 3.5), just a smidge of GURPS and Shadowrun. Reading the Fate Core book now, and hoping to play a one-off or two before getting into a longer campaign. Eventually looking forward to running some games. -Player -Time Zone is Central Standard: CST/CDT (GMT -6/-5) I have an incredibly difficult schedule to work around, unfortunately. It changes from week to week, so I'll have to work out times as opportunities come up. Thanks!
Hey everyone! I'm both a player and GM but lean more towards the GM side of Fate games as that's where I have the most fun. I'm Central Standard Time. I'm pretty experienced with Fate Core (not so much FAE). I started about four years ago and have been playing it consistently but only just recently began to finally understand the system. I want to really focus on the flow of Fate at the moment, keeping things going active and dynamic, while also mastering the Create an Advantage action as I'm still learning to grasp it. I usually play characters that are deeply flawed or with them starting below other people in terms of power -- most of their aspects being troubles. I also play both male and female characters, whatever I decide would be fun to play with, and try to keep them different from my core personality as much as possible to create interesting dynamics. As far as games to run as a GM, I have several ideas but prefer building the setting with others to offer player-buy-in. Some example ideas for settings I'm toying with right now are superhero ones (like the Incredibles or like Boku No Hero or Young Justice), Fallout apocalypse style, pulp sci-fi, Cyberpunk VR games (playing a video game to survive in the future), and honestly so much more. I prefer building the setting with others because then we get truly unique stuff going that I never would've thought of! I have a ton of experience DMing and am excellent at improv (I'm in an improv troupe at my college), am a writer, and an English major -- I'm confident in my abilities to tell a fun and unique story that everyone can enjoy. Thanks! Excited to start some games!

Hello all, I'm Liam. Location: UK Time Zone: BST/GMT Role: Player (But would like to GM in future) Relatively new player to Table top RPGs, I only started within the last year. But was always something I've been interested in. Since I started I've tried D&D, Pathfinder and The Lone Wolf Adventure game. But was most recently introduced to FATE. I love the story driven collaborative style that FATE Core offers, and have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences with the system so far. Still very much finding my feet as a Role-player and looking to improve and learn as much as I can, but I'm not afraid at all to get stuck in. I'm mainly looking to get in with a nice regular group to play FATE with and am more than happy to do it over Roll20, Tabletop Simulator etc. Any platform the group prefers. I am a big fan of many genres; Sci-fi, fantasy, cyberpunk, steampunk. But due to FATES collaborative world building, I'm more than happy to play in any setting. Look forward to playing with you all. All the best, Liam
Howdy! I am Bob (EDT) Many, many years Experience with AD & D 1st, 2nd, 3.5 & most recently Pathfinder Society play. Mutants & Masterminds and some others a long time ago. Recently played a game of Fate Accelerated & a Powered by The Apocalypse game on Free RPG day. This led me to watching a game of Fate Core on Table Top and reading the Fate Core book cover to cover. Would like to play some Fate Core and then GM. Available most Saturdays anytime and weekday evenings EDT. Like both high & low fantasy and fun superhero settings. Interested in trying other "grittier' setting as I know they are popular. Please hit me up if you think I would be a good fit for your game. I am new to Roll 20, in that I haven't used it to play yet, but test setting works fine. Cannot use Skype due to Linux computer, but anything that works with Firefox or Google Chrome should be good.
My name is Cam. I am a player. My time zone is EST. I have played FATE three times. But I have played the Fantasy Flight Games which is a similar system. I want to play characters that show personality more than skills. I want campaigns that develop their characters as well as the adventure.
Hi everyone!! +Player, GM wannabe xD + CEST time zone user I only got to play Fate once, well Direct it, I´d better say. It was a game that is currently going on with some friends based on a Police mod I found on the Internet. I don´t think it was going that bad, in terms of plot, but mechanics, skills and other stuff need improvement. I´d like to play some games to learn from good GM´s that allow me to become a better one and meanwhile have some fun. I don´t really care what gender the game is,I just want to have fun and learn a lot Cheers :´)

Greetings all and thanks for the add =) As far as FATE goes, I'm a new player, and by that I mean I haven't played ONE game. But I've been watching alot of YouTube videos on the subject and own a copy of the core rules. Hope to get in something and learn and grow with experience, and hopefully can Game Master this system. I'm on EST Time Zone (GMT -5) and will follow this group regularly. Peace!
Hello everyone! My actual name is Miguel, but I also respond to Mick. I'll be honest, I have never played FATE before, but after reading the FATE Core basic manual, I got super stoked about playing it, mostly as a player. I've GM'd some other rulesets a few times, but I still have a lot to learn, so until I become more proficient in that matter, I'm going to pass on GMing. My timezone is, at the time I finish writing this is -3 ART, but it may change since I'm traveling a bit ATM. I'm more of a medieval fantasy kind of guy, but I can pretty much fit into any genre as long it's not a space opera. Thank you for the invite.
Hi I'm Shane from Ireland so GMT, free during the evening on weekdays and more flexible on weekends. I'm fairly new to roll20 and have never played any fate games but would really like to.
Hey, my name's Char! I'm a huge d&d nerd, but I kinda suck at making d&d races / classes. I started looking around for a system that was already set up for what I wanted (power rangers, Kamen Riders, irkens, ya know the usual) I found Mecha vs kaiju, and fate (core). After acquiring books, I decided to try and find like minded people to put together a long running campaign of monsters (both large and small), flashy transformation sequences, and my weird ass voice doing strange vocal contortions for your amusement! But I need to learn the mechanics alot more of both fate core and MvK before I do all that XD so if anyone is willing to show me the ropes, or even recruit me for a game, I'm down. You can contact me through roll20, or my discord Digabob_Da_Choppa#0190. Discord is 110% a better way to get a hold of me though. Oh! And my time zone is US Pacific.

Hi everyone, Derk here. I'm interested in FATE both as a player and as a GM. My timezone is Western European (Netherlands - GMT+1/+2depending on daylight saving). I have yet to play my first game of FATE. I was big time into the traditional RPGs in the 90s, playing basic D&D (red box), AD&D, GURPS, Shadowrun etc until '97. By then I had gotten somewhat bored with the 'murder hobo' aspect of the majority of these games and was no longer inspired. Moving across the country for work closed the deal. The past years I have been getting my feet wet again with some old school warhammer and the last 3-odd years I discovered all the wonderful things indy gaming has been up to in the mean time and the leading role for fiction in most of them. Apocalypse World and its spinoffs, Burning Wheel, etc. I've since been playing: Apocalypse World (GM) Pendragon (GM) ( https://knights-of-the-realm-1.obsidianportal.com/ ) Mouseguard (Player) Dungeon World (GM) ( https://sagaofthenorth.obsidianportal.com/ ) Burning Wheel (Player and GM) ( https://tomesoflegend.org/aniburning/ , https://tomesoflegend.org/ebonhold/ , https://tomesoflegend.org/burningrealms/ (*) ) The one I had on my list but never found an opportunity to play yet is FATE. I'm really interested to see whether the very different play style is something that will 'click' for me as a player, and whether I feel comfortable I will be able to GM a good game of FATE. (*) I enjoy keeping track of my campaigns. I had been using Obsidian Portal, but when that got less reliable migrated to a mediawiki. Now working to set up the templates for FATE on a wiki as well.
Heya - David S here. I'm looking to play FATE. I am a first timer so a group that was willing to tolerate me would be appreciated. I'm particularly interested in the Dresden files standard or accelerated. I am EDT but I have a very strange schedule right now and I am playing one game in GMT and one in PST. I am a noob but I learn quickly and I am happy to get out of the way or be bossed around until I know what I am doing. I really want to try the Dresden Files game and I've read up on it a bit. I am very familiar with various technical pieces including the AV setups, Roll20, etc. I just don't know the game system, though I am slowly reading up on it. Thanks for your time!
Hi All, Zac here. I started GM'ing my first game of Fate Accelerated (DFAE) almost a year ago and have been a big fan of the system ever since. Due to experience and a love for the books my main interest is in Dresden Files Accelerated, but in time will likely end up trying many different versions of Fate Core and Accelerated. I'm in the EST Time Zone (GM -5) I'm primarily interested in being a player, as I've yet to experience that side of the RPG world, but am also happy to GM from time to time as well. Thanks for reading! Zac :)
Hello, all... New Fate player here, with an aim to GM eventually . (Also pretty new to Roll20.) Central time zone (CST = GMT-5) I come from a D&D background, but am looking for a lighter weight and more universal system. What I've read of Fate really appeals to me in its mechanics and in its dramatic flow. I'll be looking to try out short games in different genres and settings. Thanks!

Hello! I'm a player in the Central timezone. I prefer to play 8pm Central or later. I'm new to FATE. I developed an interest in it while looking for new transhumanist games -- several of those use FATE. I love that FATE has a clear system for GM-player collaboration built right into the rule set! FATE seems oriented towards cinematic gameplay. Every player always has something interesting they can do to contribute to the evolving action; if nothing else a player can always contribute a new Aspect to the scene. The relative minimization of dice rolls via fate points is a plus too! After I get hands-on experience with the system to develop my FATE intuition and "muscle memory" I'll use it to run some of my own stories. I particularly like games with transhumanist themes (e.g. cyberpunk). Some FATE examples include Nova Praxis and Eclipse Phase.
Greetings, Looking for Fate Core one shots or campaigns, every couple of weeks or every month is fine. U.S. Mountain Time Zone I'm much more into realism-leaning settings (not simulationist, obviously) rather than magical/supernatural/fantastical settings (e.g. hard sci fi over sci fantasy or space opera, low fantasy over high fantasy, Wild Blue over Star Wars, etc.), although somehow superhero stuff probably works for me, too. :) Also, I'm of the mindset where Fate Core itself can handle just about everything (rampant specialization is annoying because it's unnecessary). [I see very little reason to change e.g. the skills list for each setting or genre (it's intentionally wide and abstract) except possibly with the addition of profession/specialized skills (e.g. Astronaut), simply because they can capture a wide range of specialized yet compartmentalized "lore", "crafts", etc. capabilities without implying *general* mastery of "lore", "crafts", etc. That said, I believe setting/genre specific minigames/tracking methods for contests/challenges/conflicts are appropriate (e.g. Diaspora's space combat abstraction), as long as they aren't about adding a bunch of unnecessarily crunchy rules to make the game look more like a simulationist or D&D-like game.] See you in the narrative! R-)
Hello everyone. I'm Ani and my timezone is IST (Indian Standard Time) i.e. UTC+5:30. I've played Fate Core as a player for 3 sessions in a campaign that ended very prematurely due to some problem players. However, the system definitely caught my eye as being more narrative-focused, which is what I prefer in TTRPGs, over the so-called 'crunchy' or number-focused systems like D&D or M&M. I've also ran a Fate Core campaign for 7 or 8 sessions, which was coincidentally my first time GMing. But both of these games were last year and I've been trying to find an intriguing Fate game to join ever since. Thanks for reading and I hope to chat more in a game :)
