Hopefully simple Fog of War question

I'm pulling my hair out here. This is for an in person game.I want my projected TV to show players the Triboar map using Fog of War, approaching from the South. I would like the map to slowly reveal itself as they move. And then be fully lit on each place that they have already revealed. The closest I've come to this is the area is lit near the player token, and then everything they have already discovered behind them is a shadowy grey area, like a dim fog of war that they can see through. How can I make areas they have been to, fully lit? This tutorial even illustrates a DM doing this, having areas the players have already been to still light brightly. What settings do I need to make this happen because I've tried every toggle for hours now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jl6cj3T1INU

The Advanced Fog of War will only ever show the shaded area for visited parts of the map, this ensures there is a difference between line of sight and 'memory'. If you want to keep it lit you'll need to drop light crumbs (invisible tokens with sight that emit light and that the players can control), this will show the areas visited but will also ruin any the surprise of any changes you make (monsters sneaking up behind them/patrolling etc) unless you also utilise the GM layer to the full. From a quick skim through that video (nice work Grumpy Old DM by the way!) the AFoW seems to be acting as normal, the shading just might not be as obvious in parts as the tokens light seems quite extensive ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Elaborating on light crumbs, I keep a phantom token at the top of my journal, just a completely transparent png with an aura only visible to me. It has sight, and is set for all players to control, but since they can't see the token/aura, it doesn't get moved. I can drop it into an area of map that they have already explored, or that is very familiar to them, or that they can see due to altitude, etc. It's vision does not pass through dynamic lighting walls, so I can put it into a passage without worrying about revealing anything else. I can have it emit light if that makes sense, but sometimes I just need to allow them to see what is already lit.
Thank you both.
