@@@ LFG Existing 2e or 5e Group @@@ - Heavy Roleplaying - Veteran Player

I'M LOOKING TO JOIN A GAME... Name : Jason (The Wicked Producer GM) I love Heavy Roleplaying... Prefer Forgotten Realms setting... I'm unemployed so I can play 24/7 any days you need except Friday.  I'm interested in PST or EST games.  I'll start any level and I'm looking for a long term group.  Please message me here if you're interested, so the thread gets bumped.  I'm a great player to add to a game. My experience with 5E: Zero, which I see as a good thing.  The system seems easy and I've been playing 2e for 26 years.  ABOUT ME:   I've been running games for 26 years and started GMing in 1991.  I've run D&D, AD&D, AD&D 2nd and many other rpgs.  I've run many campaign setting in AD&D 2nd, including: Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Spelljammer, Ravenloft, Al-Qadim, Planescape, Oriental Adventures and others.  Over the years I have held onto about 500 books and 25 boxed sets, that I felt were worth saving.  I would prefer playing at a table rather then in Roll20 but we have to look to the future.  I've been on Roll20 since 2014 and jumped in play testing and running some Vampire the Masquerade games. Playing any characters, NPC's, etc would be an easy break from running games. I'm looking for a nice group of people to befriend and enjoy some gaming with.  At 40 years old, I don't bring any BS with me as a player.  I Know you would be lucky to have me and I hope I would be lucky to find a great group like yours. Here is a simple sample concept for a character : Name: Vanessa Žárovná Race: Human Class: ( Blade) Bard - (More like a smart fighting woman) I see the character class as more part of her personality rather than, lol "I'm a Bard and I love music, listen to me play." <--- (that would be a one dimensional character) Alignment: Neutral-Good Background & Personality: It’s indeed a man’s world, but spitfire Vanessa is determined to carve out from it her own destiny. Smart, savvy, and quick-witted, Vanessa is a force to be reckoned with, gives as good as she gets, and has the respect of her fellow adventurers. Nobility (But you wouldn't know it) from the distant Sword Coast "Kingdom of Alington", she’s making steady money on the road and looking for adventure that takes her from her homeland – and even better money slinging information. She uses this critical leverage in her relationships for either financial gain or personal protection. Information is power, and Vanessa is a powerful lady due to her beauty and intelligence.

I have a campaign going, on our 4th session - its Lost mine of Pheldelver.&nbsp; I will be honest, this module tends to be 65% combat 35% RP. But the group can up the RP aspects anytime tbh. Planning to PM you with a pitch to join a 2E long-haul campaign that is fresh-starting at Level 1 soon. We may have gamed together before on here. I've got 2 campaigns open, one is Dark Sun, and the other is a homebrew called Zero World, both are AD&D 2e rules, though the ZW game also uses a bit from Savage Worlds' system as it is reminiscent of Shadowrun and has some 'modern' elements such as firearms, vehicles, etc...you're welcome to join either if you'd like

Wicked, if you *really* are a heavy roleplayer, I might have a session for you. It's 8:30PST- 11ish sometimes 11:30PST, Storm Kings Thunder, revised and customized to be a little homebrewy (word I just made up, it happens...) I'm VERY protective of this group. It's run for charity (I'm normally a pay to play GM), to teach someone that runs an inmate D&D rehabilitation program how an expert DM runs things. We roleplay ALL week over text in discord , and then play on voice on Thursday nights. I'm looking for a control/support wizard (suggestion, hold person, minor illusion etc) or a support bard (hypnotic pattern, dissonent whispers, vicious mockery, haste, etc).&nbsp; All players are members of a guild (thrivalists). Everyone has their own unique personality and each person brings something unique to the table. I have custom, high magic crafting rules that are a little OP (but dont worry I scale the monsters appropriately). I also run with the crit fail/crit cards from pathfinder which have been changed for 5e. I run a separate, weaker deck for NPC crits. I'd want you to join discord today, if possible, if you're interested in joining (so we can get the roleplay of meeting you done in discord text). @ Princess Batman - Nice work running games for charity. Is your game a text game? and are you saying you have discord but would want to chat via text and not voice? Is this for you Thursday night game? Not sure, but it sounds like a "Voice Game" on Thursdays and you text role play between games... I'm open to finding out more about your game.

Yes its a voice game on Thursday nights, and we text role play between games, all week long. I am in 14 games,&nbsp; 6 player game 5 paid GM games (about to start another 2 paid GM games) and this is by far my favorite group. We LOVE to roleplay - NOT "roll-play", real actual roleplay. The characters really are invested in their backstories and characters, and that's something thats a rarity. It's one reason I really want a control/cc/buff class - we have so many damage dealers I worry about a TPK without some proper control or buff class. Go ahead and friend me on discord, that's much easier than working with roll20 text and its real time.

I'm not shy to go up and beyond for my character. Character: Having served the king and queen of another kingdom since he was sixteen, Caleb has always been seen as a born leader and capable of handling his own in a serious fight. Caleb grew up as a small town boy, father and mother being the owner of an inn, always dreaming to be the hero his town looked up to. One day the castle near his home held a tournament to see who would join the ranks of it’s faithful soldiers. Even though Caleb had lost early on, he was still recruited to join but as the stall boy. Getting underground training from his mentor, Caleb rose quickly in the ranks and within a couple of years became a lieutenant in the army. Never being ashamed of where he came from, Caleb quickly brought his family to live with him and made sure his town was well funded and supported. The night the castle was attacked when he was thirty-three years old, Caleb was inside with his wife and three boys watching a festival take place in the castle alongside the king and queen. The barrier around Mystica Castle came down, which allowed an airborne pollen to mentally affect all of the soldiers who were outside celebrating the festival. Those who made contact with the pollen began to see things, mainly their allies as the enemy. When Caleb was informed of what was happening, he ordered that the king and queen be transported to a safe haven. Before leaving, Caleb was handed the most prized possession in all of the land. Hoping to get help in the Village of Higi, General Caleb left the castle with his family in a carriage. But he wouldn’t get far. A fireball was thrown a few feet away from him, sending the carriage flying in the air. Gradually regaining consciousness, Caleb awakens to a horrid sight. His family being slaughtered to death by his own men, thinking they were monsters.
