Spontaneous Music

I noticed an old topic having to do with a gaming-themed Pandora channel or something similar. Do many of you have an interest in a streaming, channel-based music option? For example, a "Fantasy Battle" or "Space Travel" channel, where certain genres of music would broadcast around the clock and all a user would need to do at a given time is click the appropriate channel? Or is the do-it-yourself model preferred?

That's a good idea. I would like to see the ability to set the background music in the page options...I think that would be even better.

+1. I would love to stream music during play, and the only way I can work it out is using two accounts, multiple inputs etc. unless I build a playlist on Soundcloud and awkwardly switch between tracks.

Yeah, it sounds like there are two ways of going about getting music into the game. Option 1, something like Soundcloud (or your own music library), where you program your own music ahead of time or spend time search for existing music, or option 2, where someone else has prepared music in a certain genre and you just press 'play'. I have considered creating streaming channels of music for some time, but am trying to find out if there is enough of a need. I would love to support the many composers out there and offer fresh, original music to gamers as well, which could be changed and used in game at a moment's notice. Thanks for your feedback. Hopefully a few others will chime in...

I don't know if this helps, but there is a channel on I Heart Radio that streams movie soundtracks that sounds like it would fit the bill for a source. Try Blue Star Radio.

I like the concept as soundcloud has limited selection and I tend to go to the same cuts over again. Streaming would be good for general background and then use soundcloud for specific needs like battle scenes. So - yes I'm all for a streaming channel.
