[New Players Welcome] Biweekly on Sundays DnD 5E (One slot left)

Starting a new DnD Campaign from the ground up, looking for another player so we can start playing. It is a homebrew world. What I need for you to start: Your character's backstory up to where you start the adventure Your experience playing DnD What kind of game you would like to play (combat focused, RP focused) I hope this wasn't too long of a read, and anything wasn't left out, you can post your characters here, message me directly or email me at gamemaster@13technologies.com If you have any questions, message me directly or post here and I will get back to you when I can. - Zack
Hi Zack, What is your timezone and when would your group usually get together? I am in MST timezone and would be able to participate after 3pm MST. Thanks
1. Character Name: Morax Yuuncann Race: Dragonborn Class: Bard (College of Valor) Background: Soldier Basic Backstory: Morax belongs to a savage clan of savage, war obsessed Dragonborn. His clan has conquered many villages and cities. Morax has always been on the front line, inspiring the troops with his guttural war cries and the beating of his war drums. Known as a great warrior by his clan and well respected by the war general. All was well with Morax, but he had one horrific secret that could ruin his very reputation. Morax wants nothing more in life than to be a gourmet pastry Chef. It is Morax's dream to study at the College of Cuisines but unfortunately cooking is frowned upon in his clan as it was considered a woman's job and thus was beneath a mighty warrior like himself. The males do the pillaging and the fucking, there was no time for something as pointless as cooking. One night, at the peak of midnight Morax packed up his things and fled out into the pitch blackness. Morax was finally ready to pursue his dreams as a Chef and did not care that this would unfortunately make him an outcast among his people. The general idea for my character is a strength based Bard that can be on the front line swinging a sword while still casting support spells when needed. I plan to take the heavy armor trait when I'm level 4 so I can be almost as tanky as a traditional fighter while also having lots of handy dandy spells to use. 2. Your experience playing DnD: I'm not a seasoned player, have only just started playing DnD January of this year but am familiar with most of the mechanics. I'm available all day Sunday. Give me a shout if you're interested in having me join you. 3. What kind of game you would like to play (combat focused, RP focused): I'm up for anything.

When is the game going to start and at what day & time will sessions begin? What is your time-zone? What rulebooks besides core do you have/use for this game? I am curious as it really depends on what you'd allow us players to play as. Afterall this is a homebrew world so would non-AL races such as grung be acceptable? Those questions aside, here is my current idea for a character -1- Character Name: Bartholomew Blackthorn Race: Halfling(Ghostwise (willing to change subrace if you don't want SCAG content)) Class: Rogue(Mastermind) Background: Criminal Backstory (Sorry for the word wall) : A few shadowy figures are gathered around a large campfire, the smallest amongst them was sat on a stump with a small stick in hand. The flickering light revealing his brown eyes, but what really drew attention to him was the scar across his face running from one cheek curling up to the other to his ear. His baritone voice suited his carefree tone as he addressed his 'crowd'. " I was born into a family that opposed the law. Comprised of swindlers, thiefs and fences of illgotten goods even murderers. Now I won't lie and say oh don't worry I'm different. I'm a good man. I keep to my word." That would be a waste of time, and that my friend would be the biggest crime of all. Afterall, they say time is money, right? " " What's that look for? You want to hear more of my story? Really? ...Well alright " Takes a swig of ale. " Well I was certainly raised to become apart of the family-business. First, it was mimicry, pickpocketing, and forgery during my youthful years. A way to learn how to, speak, read and write I assure you " Takes another swig as he paused. " Hmm Perhaps, I started far too early on in the story. It would go on for far too long. Needs to be to the point, Don't you think? " " Well you can't exactly say you just one-night shrugged of work to listen to the tales adventurers only to get reprimanded by your crime-syndicate father and boss, who you in turn decide to cut one of his fingers off, and decided to go against your entire family for the sake of just following a dream. Choosing to stow away on a boat to this land and following any trails and rumors pointing towards adventure now can you. " After his expositional onslaught, he paused once more as one of the other figures by the fire nodded. " You can? Well that makes introductions so much easier... " He swiftly rose from his seat with a grin on his face. A few brown curls come out from under his hood with the sudden movement. " Well thank you for clearing that up. I suppose I should bid you fellows farewell. No need to worry your friend will be waking up he should be more than capable. " He stokes the fire with his stick causing a few embers drift to nearby wood. " You just have to hope he wakes up sooner rather than later..." And without another word, he left leaving behind 3 figures each struggling with their bodies bound by rope, their screams muffled by impromptu gags -2- I would be starting completely newbut I do have a friend who has been explaining some mechanics to me and have been searching tutorials and watched a few games here of there. -3- Whilst I am one for theatrics as you can see, I would prefer a balance as both RP and Combat as I've seen both can have large impact on the game.
1) Character Name: Anders Vandrim, goes by Van Race: Scourge Aasimar Class: Warlock (Hexblade) Background: Soldier The first thing I remember is dying. I remember the fields, with the broken bodies of my brothers and sisters. I remember the sickening stench of blood and decay. All the training in the world, all of the best arms and armor that my father could buy wouldn't do anything for the arrows sticking out my side. There were no victors at the Flats that day, only dead sons and daughters who would never go home. I remember praying with every fiber of my being, hoping that someone would answer me. I didn't expect it to be bloody Tadriel, the Arbiter. I remember his glorious image, and how he plunged his hand into my heart. I remember the surge of fire, and the insidious cold of the shadow it made in my heart. I remember waking up, and finding out that I was more than I was before. Fire burned in my veins, and yet there was something cold about it. I cannot fully describe it, but I know that a part of me hungers for justice in this world. I was changed that day, and I wonder if it was for the better. All I can do now is wander, and seek out whatever destiny that angel had planned for me. 2) I'm a seasoned DM and player, with several editions of D&D under my belt. I DM a game of 5e now, but that's winding down as my semester ends. 3) I'd prefer a nice balance between RP and combat. I'm a bit of a sucker for tactics, and I'm always up for a challenge or otherwise intriguing situations.
