[LF1P] [5E] [Sundays 8PM EST] Legends of Faerûn (Forgotten Realms loosely)

Hi everyone,  Hope you all survived the great outage of 2018.  I'm looking for an additional player to round out my Sunday campaign. We've got a really solid group of people involved, that loves to RP and gets along great.  The campaign has been going on for about 5-6 months now. The characters are all at Level 6, and you would start there as well. It's based in the Forgotten Realms setting, and has mainly stuck to the Sword Coast area so far, though things might change. The current makeup of the party is Bard, Warlock, Cleric, Fighter, Wizard.  All three pillars of the game are emphasized, but the weight will shift depending on the location and goals of the party. We've had sessions involved all RP, all combat, all investigation and exploring, or various mixes of all three.  It's very much a character driven campaign. Both the PCs, and the NPCs. The party's actions have consequences and impact, so the story is derivative mainly of them.  That being said, I'm looking for someone that isn't going to get too bogged down with the minutia of the rules, and will wait until after the session to argue for or against a particular ruling, someone that shows up on time and consistently and lets people know when they aren't going to make it in any particular week, and most importantly someone that's going to have fun. We have a pretty diverse group, so use your common sense and don't be a jerk. This game is inclusive for people of all backgrounds. There are some mature themes, which mainly include violence since a lot of the game is hacking apart goblins and whatnot. Absolutely no sexual assault of any kind is allowed, there is a zero tolerance policy on that at my table.  If you have any questions, concerns or think this game is for you, feel free to respond in this thread and I'll be in touch.  Thanks!
Hey there mate, would love to join you guys. Am available all Sunday. I would really love to play a Bard if you're okay with having a second one. It would be a Dragonborn Bard of Valor with the heavy armor trait. That way I could be a secondary tank on the front line with your fighter. Let me know playing a Bard isn't okay and I'll change but here's the basic outline of my character. This is the basic idea of my character. Character Name: Morax Yuuncann Race: Dragonborn Class: Bard (College of Valor) Background: Soldier Basic Backstory: Morax belongs to a savage clan of savage, war obsessed Dragonborn. His clan has conquered many villages and cities. Morax has always been on the front line, inspiring the troops with his guttural war cries and the beating of his war drums. Known as a great warrior by his clan and well respected by the war general. All was well with Morax, but he had one horrific secret that could ruin his very reputation. Morax wants nothing more in life than to be a gourmet pastry Chef. It is Morax's dream to study at the College of Cuisines but unfortunately cooking is frowned upon in his clan as it was considered a woman's job and thus was beneath a mighty warrior like himself. The males do the pillaging and the fucking, there was no time for something as pointless as cooking. One night, at the peak of midnight Morax packed up his things and fled out into the pitch blackness. Morax was finally ready to pursue his dreams as a Chef and did not care that this would unfortunately make him an outcast among his people. The general idea for my character is a strength based Bard that can be on the front line swinging a sword while still casting support spells when needed. I plan to take the heavy armor trait when I'm level 4 so I can be almost as tanky as a traditional fighter while also having lots of handy dandy spells to use.
Hmmm...Well, I wouldn't mind giving this a shot, Sunday sounds rather good to me. Plus, I've never had a chance to try Pathfinder properly, so I'm rather curious to give this a shot and judging by the party standard I could try and go for a Rogue.
Name Scott Age 46 Experience I've played D&D since AD&D second edition took a 16-year vacation and am now playing 5e new to roll 20 but falling in love with it. Why do you play D&D wanting to build a friendship with others that love the fantasy world. Having fun building a group of adventure's that try to write their names into history as the legend's in our own minds. Race I have a human rogue lvl 6, a wood elf ranger lvl 5, and a few level 1 characters that I could bring into the mix. Class Have a number of characters that I enjoy playing. The rogue and ranger are my favorites but I can work with the needs of the party. Background depending on the character needed they all have a background written out for them. Brief bio If you go with my Rogue which is my favorite character she is an assassin/spy with a criminal background...CN with evil trends. and if you go with my Ranger she is a CN outlander that takes longer to trust folks. Her family was killed by a red dragon that attacked her village. and dragons are the favored enemy. Player Style I do enjoy the role-playing aspect but I also enjoy the fights....so a good mix would be awesome. I am looking for a weekly group that around 8 pm eastern. I currently have a group on Monday, therefore, that day won’t work for me. I am a dedicated player that will be a dedicated player for the group.
Hey Gary, I like what I have read so far and am definitely interested. Currently playing a 9th level / Paladin in a Wed game here on Roll20 and have found that really enjoyable. I am definitely can do Sunday evenings as I am PST. I started playing DnD a while back (ok a looong while back), took some time off, and now came back a year ago and realized how much I missed playing. I recently ran my own campaign (gasp - we were all in person) and that was a lot of fun taking players from levels 1 to 5.  I do have some questions for you. you have a nearly perfect party size and composition - what do you want to get out of adding an extra player? I think that would help me a lot to understand if I am a good fit for your group. I definitely want to focus on everyone having a good time.  What is the age range of the players?  I want to fill a niche with my character if possible should you choose to invite me. What might be missing?  As a GM, what do you think the party needs? I do tend toward melee combatants (did I mention I am a Paladin in another game?) but would rather snap in. What is the alignment range? confession - I do not know much about Forgotten Realms other then its obviously a defined world ala WOTC. Does that matter much to you? I look forward to hearing from you :-). Paul (Polie)
Hi Polie, in response to your questions -  1. I guess that's a pretty subjective thing. As a DM I prefer 6 players to 5, since many of us have a of things going on and there are weeks when someone can't make it. 6 is a manageable number, and I don't have to worry about cancelling a week if 1 or 2 people can't make it. Life has called a couple of people away from D&D over the course of our adventure, and I'd like to maintain the number of players that I personally consider optimal.  2. I haven't asked, but my guess would be various stages of adulthood.  3. Anything you want to play is fine. Right now their strengths are healing, ranged offense, offensive spells, and they have a familiar that does most of the scouting. I think 4 characters have counterspell.  4. Mostly good with some neutral. They've been the good guys of the story, and I don't allow PVP so evil characters are heavily frowned upon. Like any good adventure, accidents have been made, and the heroes struggle with inner-demons from time to time though.  5. That's totally fine. In my experience it's easier if you don't follow it religiously since I am very loose with the canon.  Hope that helps!
thanks for the replies, Gary - I have sent you a private message!
