[LFG] [D&D5E] [EST] Experienced Player seeking RP Heavy Campaign/Adventure

“Woah is he who has been assaulted by time and cast astray from his like. Alone, forgotten, yet unrelenting to relinquish the passion of his youth. Memories of lost years feed his desires, rake the coals of his creativity and spark the spirit of his imagination, all of which had been subdued by an inevitable assailant. It is said that age is just a number… that one is only as old as one feels… for the aged outcast, let him hope these words have fallen on the youthful ears of those who have yet to collect memories of better times… and allow him to show them that memories can outlive us all.” The Lamentations of the Elder Soul. Hello, my name is Mark aka Fate/Fated I am an active (Over 600 hours in Roll20) 50-year-old role player who has never lost his passion for the creative and imaginative hobby from his past. I have been playing TT/VTT RP games off and on (mostly off) for roughly 35 years and see no end in sight as long as I can be a contributive, entertaining member to a group. I am currently seeking a weekly D&D 5e campaign that focuses on the roleplaying aspect. I am an admitted escapist, meaning I love to lose myself in a game. The following is what I look for in a game: Story/Plot Building, Character Development (much different from Character Leveling), Social Interaction/Immersion, Creative Collaboration and overall a desire by both DM and group to enjoy themselves. Unfortunately, at times this last thing is somehow lost during sessions as DM/Players find themselves struggling or forcing themselves just to make it through. Creative responsibility does not fall into the lap of the DM alone, nor should one Player be forced to carry the others… the best games are those where every player shares a moment in the spotlight in both good and bad situations. When at the completion of the campaign the players shouldn’t look back and focus on the pitfalls and achievements of the individual character but embrace the entirety of the experience as a whole. Okay, now on to the particulars. Below is the information most frequently asked by DM’s on application post. Name: Mark aka Fate/Fated Age: 50 Sex: Male Location: EST/EDT timezone Contact Information: Feel free to contact me via Roll20 PM or at the following Email - fatesealer.d20@gmail.com Discord - FateD20#1575 (FateD20) Skype - live:fatesealer.d20 (FateD20) Available Times: Weekdays after 6:00 pm (Weekend slots might be negotiable) Experience: D&D 5e - Novice - roughly a year of off and on play time. I own the sourcebooks and have a fairly good grasp on game mechanics. Come game time it is my belief that a player should thoroughly understand their own character and allow the DM to focus on the mechanics of the game itself and not of every player characters mechanics. Again I embrace shared responsibility and collaboration. Notable Traits: A small list of my Pro’s and Con’s Creativity - I would like to think that I am a very creative individual, I enjoy writing and feel I am proficient enough to bring my words to life. I love art, music and consider myself somewhat of a modern day Renaissance Man. Immersion - While gaming I want to assume the role of my character and in doing so hope to inspire the others to do so as well. I can honestly say I could spend an entire three-hour session with less than 10 die rolls and have a great time. I am capable of evoking emotion and setting the mood through voice inflection and tone. When it comes to voice acting I love to incorporate it as much as possible though I feel I am average at best when trying to do so. Cooperation/Coachability - This might be one of my strongest suits. I am always willing to help in any way possible and believe firmly in always wanting to improve. I am always open to suggestions and invite creative criticism. Long Winded - I have a terrible tendency to be very long winded at times. Just look at this post, enough said Patience - I included this based on my intolerance for undependability, I realize more than most that real-life situations may cause issues but individuals who habitually have this happen should be considerate of the others. It is not fair to the DM or other players who put time and effort into ensuring they are prepared for a session, only to have to have that pushed back… it’s not only disappointing, it’s heartbreaking to those who look forward to that time each week. In Game Antics - I get it, we are all here to have fun, however, while in game I frown upon Out of Character antics. For a few precious hours, we are allowed to escape and not be bothered by the distractions of real life… I know it is asking a lot sometimes and some situations it is to be expected but keeping this in check would greatly enhance the roleplaying experience for everyone. For any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me using any of the aforementioned methods. In closing I want to wish you all the best in your games and may each one be as memorable as the next Respectfully, Mark aka Fate/Fated
There is a player that might be needing to leave my table due to out of game circumstances. If he won't be able to continue playing... You would be an excellent fit for my DnD 5e game. I'll keep you posted on updates if he decides to stay or leave
It’s nice to hear from you again. I greatly appreciate the opportunity should it arise. For The continuity of your current group I hope this player is able to work things out, it would be selfish on my behalf to think otherwise. Keep me posted!
