Been flailing around a bit desparately to try and find a game on a weekday night (my Thursdays through Sundays are usually chock full), and hopefully someone will read this and be willing to help this poor lost soul find himself a game during the week. :) I just realized it might be helpful to clarify what days I'm looking to play on: any Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday night after 7:30 or 8:00 PM EST. Who am I? I’m obviously a random guy on the internet, and I’m looking for a game. I’m willing to play most anything if you’re willing to teach/put up with me learning the system. My preference would be for what I call a “modern+” kind of game (World of Darkness, Superheroes, weird occult stuff like Supernatural, whatever you’ve got). I have absolutely no problem with Pathfinder or D&D but the thing is that I’m in so many of those types of games now that I want a change of pace. I'm not hugely into Scifi, but I've played a bit of Shadowrun and I count Firefly as one of my favorite shows in the 'verse, if that means anything to ya. What can I bring to the table? I like to think I’m a pretty fun guy to have in your gaming group, and I know when it’s time to be serious and when it’s okay to just mess around. Part of the fun of a good game is hanging out and having a laugh, but when it’s time to tighten up the bootstraps and get serious I will snap right into it. I will invest myself in your stories and I will provide you probably more than enough ammunition to use against me in your game because I’ve been playing for years and there are some lessons I just don’t learn. :) What am I looking for? As I said above, my primary interest would be a “modern+” setting. I know any of you DMs and GMs who are running D&D or Pathfinder games have more than enough people looking to join games at any given moment, and that’s totally cool. But I suspect there may be some lurking GMs who want to do something different from the Big 2 of fantasy games, and I want you to know there’s people out here who would be more than happy to commit to that kind of a game! I’m also looking for a group that works together to create awesome stories, and that I don’t have to compete with in order to be heard. In the same vein if it’s someone’s time to be in the spotlight I’m happy to sit back and watch. I want to be as big a fan of other peoples’ characters as I am of my own, and I want to make sure that everyone in the group is having fun, even if that means sitting back and providing “soft encouragement” from the sidelines. Do I have any more rhetorical questions to ask? What else have I got to say? Really at this point the thing I’m looking for is a group that I can just have fun with. I’m not big into competing with other players, and I think any game is stronger for players liking each other (even if their characters don’t). I’m looking for a good fit, RP heavy because systems don’t keep my attention like characters do, and I’d do everything in my power to enhance your story (even if in unexpected ways) and keep everyone engaged. I like stories, people, and the characters they create. The whole point of RPGs, in my opinion, is to build something together that hopefully everyone loves. Final note: if you’ve somehow read all the way to the end of my diatribe but you’re running a D&D or Pathfinder game and think “this guy sounds cool but my game not be up his alley,” just reach out to me. I’m absolutely not opposed to those games at all. I’m looking for something different but if we’re on the same page I don’t care what system or genre you use. I am THE system agnostic.
