"Show to Players" Question

I have handouts for Quests, NPCs, and Artifacts and I format them in a way that I only give what information they currently have on the handout in question like this: Entry #1 Og is an orc that lives in the woods. You don't know much about him. Entry #2 You have found out that Og was once the leader of his tribe and was exiled. If I make the handout and only have Entry #1 in it, then click "Show to Players" - it will add the handout to their Journal and pop-up the window on their game window right? But what about after I add Entry #2? Will their Journal Entry automagically update with the new text that was added after I edit it? And if I click "Show to Players" a second time, on a handout that has already been "Shown" and is in their journal already, will it pop-up in their window a second time? I want to be able to make changes to handouts and force the players to see the pop-up when changes are made so that's why I'm asking this...

Any of your updates will be shown to players when they re-open the affected character sheet/ journal entry. Some changes may not show up though if the player keep the entry open on their game - and will only show up after they close the entry and open it again.  90% sure, this is how it works. EDIT: I thought it worked differently, but appearantly clicking show to players multiple times will show the handout each time. This info  can be found at the wiki , which is a great resource in many situations! now, how do you test this yourself? Many users create a second account to test this kind of stuff out. So with a second free account they join as players and you do your things and switch between the windows that have different accounts on it. You might need to use different browsers.

I tend to keep handout enhancements in the GM notes, then I can copy and paste additional information as it becomes common knowledge into the public section.

I'll have to do that for my campaign instead of typing them out at the time of update. This will save a load of time. Still no answer to one of my questions though. If you click "Show to Players" more than once will it pop-up more than once? I click "Show to Players" for first time. Handout pops up in their window and is added to their journal. Later I make changes to handout. I click "Show to Players" : will it pop-up in their game window AGAIN even though it's already in their journal? If I can't get an answer I might have to make a dummy player account and test it out.

The first time you hit the show to players button, if there aren’t any players on the handout, it will ask if you want to add all players, then will show to all of them. Subsequent times you click it will re-show it to whomever is on it.  Changes to the handout will show up as soon as you save them, even if they have the handout open.
