Looking for someone to teach me how to play d&d

I have been interested in D&D for a long time but i have never had a chance to play. I was recently told about this site and decided to give it a try. I am looking for someone to teach me and a friend as much as possible. I am looking for more ROLE playing if i join a campaign. I know next to nothing about d&d and haven't had much luck finding people who want to teach others. I would like to try a one shot or a game with me and a friend. Im not sure if it would be better to have an experienced DM help teach us to do all of this. I dont know. But i figured posting here wouldn't hurt.  Thanks in advance
