[LFG] Couple for Mutants and Masterminds 3E

Hello! My boyfriend and I are looking for a Mutants and Masterminds 3E game to join! Experience: I have played one short M&M campaign with premade characters before, but my boyfriend hasn't touched the system. We're basically new players and would appreciate someone who could show us the ropes and maybe create characters with us. Availability : (EST/GMT-5) late afternoon on Thursdays, all day Fridays or Saturdays

Apologies if it's unwanted but if you want more players for a larger group, I have been desperate to try M&M; I'm still fairly new to tabletops but am interested in playing out some superheroics. Also CST here, open most days aside from thursday and sunday which I absolutely cannot spare. Though, I must admit I'm only really looking for text-based games so I doubt I'll find what I'm looking for, even if you are open to others joining!
Catharic, Jessica, and jessica's boyfriend.  I still need to understand what style of game you all want to play in.  I have a few ideas of my own but i'd like to know your influences when it comes to the genre.
Oh, right, sorry! I'm not sure how best to describe what I'd really like, honestly. But either the X-Men or Teen Titans sort-of setup where a group of younger supers deal with their own coming-of-age on top of the superheroics (see also: Spider-Man, of course) or something sufficiently grounded and close to the streets, in a way? I enjoy Golden/Silver Age wackiness and Bronze/Iron grittiness in equal measure, honestly; I just like characters and the character interactions to be very grounded and human, as I do enjoy that aspect of roleplay. It's been quite some time since I last read the comics but, honestly, the Marvel Netflix shows are pretty much what I'm looking for? With perhaps a little more comic or light-hearted moments and maybe not so dire all the time. I'm fine with the scope of things growing as characters gain experience but I prefer the stakes to be a little lower than, say, cosmic levels.  Honestly I'm open to quite a bit, but am mainly just looking for a metropolitan setting with superheroes and villains of different stripes. Whether it focuses on inner-city crime or rampaging time-displaced dinosaurs or even both, I'm really just looking to play a super.

I'm a huge DC comics nerd and my boyfriend prefers a lot of the Marvel Comics characters.  I like a lot of the golden age characters and modern age stuff, my boyfriend tends to enjoy more of the 90s stuff (especially the xmen) I agree with a lot of the stuff Cathartic said, I prefer a lot of roleplay and would like a more grounded experience. I would prefer something more over a Teen Titans compared to X-Men, because I would like the option to not be a mutant. My favorite heroes/villains: Aquaman, Robin (Drake), Green Hornet, Blue Beetle (Kord) Taskmaster Boyfriends favorites: The Guyver, Magneto, all-might, spiderman, nightcrawler
I have 2 ideas, either one will do.  1st story: You start out as recent high school grads. Getting ready to go to college at Blevins University(a fictional college) in Houston, Texas.  You all have been accepted for your different reasons.  Currently you all May or may not have powers but your mutant powers will manifest. 2nd story: Things have been getting strange for you all.  In the past few weeks you have been getting notices in the mail and via emails about a request for contact for a potential study program abroad. But something is odd about the notices.  The firm seems legit but further research does not reveal anything.  No web presence, no physical address, nothing in the media. You all don't know why you all have been selected and are on the fence about contacting the firm back.  And just recently they have started contacting you all via texts and cellphone messages. Currently you all May or may not have powers but your mutant powers will manifest.
How would you feel about starting a post-apocalyptic setting for a Mutants and Masterminds campaign? I would personally enjoy graphic violence and if I'm honest, a bit of cannibalism. I cool with pretty much all dark things the come with the first steps of recreating civilization.
The setting I imagine is a cross between Mad Max, Fallout, and Marvel Universe Vs. The Punisher.
I'm personally more on board with what gyrmjack is offering
Understood, just throwing in my two-cents.
I also like the college setting idea.
Of those ideas, I think I'm down for both tbh. I'm not going to be *too* picky, I just really want to play in your typical supercity/ comic universe. Do we have any idea on a time that would be good for us all? I'm CT, and to reiterate, most days can be made free except for sundays and thursdays which I can't spare. Are you two into the idea of a text-based game as well? Or should I look elsewhere?
I can't do text based games, I'm not a fast typist.

Or should I look elsewhere?  I sent gyrmjack my thoughts on the story, both my boyfriend and I prefer the more secretive one but tbh we're both not too picky either I'm personally not against text-based, but I'll say my boyfriend is probably against it (I'll ask though later) That being said I don't mind if you type and we talk
Hey there, everyone. I'm a big New Mutants and Mutants and Masterminds fan and would love to throw my hat in the ring if you've got room for one more.
if it's text-based i would love to join ,however i have never played Mutants and Masterminds before but i am willing to learn
It's going to be voiced based over discord on Fridays 7pm cst.  Jessica has already stated that she and her BF would like to go with "the Frim" story line.  I am thinking every other week to start and if it gets better then we might move it to every week.   Keep in mind I am an experienced GM, but this will be my first stab at Gming a mutants and master minds game. it's not going to be DC or Marvel in setting so forget what you think you know.  It's going to be a comic book reality of our own making.  With that being said, I am a huge fan of the 80s x titles in feel and tone.  And everyone who joins should be expecting to play a mutant in a not so accepting world.  I will throw this at you all.  Those that don't choose there powers before hand(and allow me to pick there powers based on roleplay) will have stronger powers then those that pick powers before hand and have already had them manifested.
That sounds awesome! I'm totally up for it.
I'm in.
Id love to join in too
Here is the link to the game. <a href="https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/111706/firm-1020" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/111706/firm-1020</a>
Will we use Discord?
If so, would you mind if I started up a server? That way when we start getting together I can just hand it over to you.
