The king is dead, the capital burns, the war is over, but your adventure has just begun! I am looking to build a party for a homebrew game I previously ran in 4th edition D&D. Unfortunately 4th edition stopped being cool even before I joined roll20 in 2016. So I will run it in 5th edition! (But could be convinced to do pathfinder, or 4th edition since we weren't going to be cool kids anyways.) Starting in a kingdom split by revolution with the party members on the wrong side of the war for reasons we can discuss. Your first few sessions will be spent working together to escape the country and stumbling into an open world with multiple civilizations not typically seen in d&d settings within a lovingly crafted setting which has been refined over the past year. I work with my players to tie your characters into not only the weekly sessions to make sure you have what you are looking for in an experience, but into the overarching plot of the game. Actions taken carry over from session to session with meaningful long term rewards and consequences. Depending on what the players do you may doom all those you meet to being crushed under the heel of invaders, bring about a coalition of city states into a new unified country, or drift off into obscurity. The end of the game depends on you and your actions. If you are interested please post a character name and concept, along with the dates you would be free for a session zero to talk characters and setting. If we move fast enough through character creation I do not mind doing a bit before the game with your characters so that we can get a feeling for their personality and if need be game mechanics. An example of work from the game I intend to open up to you can be seen below: Multiple towns comprised of their own political factions which can be seen on a world map with between fifteen and thirty npcs per village. Each Npc has their own entry pages, quests, and stats. The npc entries are usually player editable so you can write down notes or information you learn as you play the game. imgur link for a clearer picture: https://imgur.com/Xqv8IMq Gahu is the heir to the goblin city, and one of her primary quests is that she needs to find someone to rule by her side. The party could help decide the fate of the goblin town by aiding competing goblins to seek her favor. This can help push the town towards what is considered civilized, or send it spiraling into chaos should the party opt to sabotage the process. Nora is a pc character from the last game and apparently liked Gahu enough to edit the entry for the other players in the party to see. Each town has its own economic system which means they value different goods or services at a different base rate to other towns and I use a google sheet with a hyperlink reachable through a journal entry for players to buy items and have an idea what goods could be sold for. I also gave my magic weapons journal pages and noted within the journal for all to see who is carrying what. (I found my wizard wouldn't bother telling the close combat characters that he had a +2 greatsword of fire... but after the journal updates the fighter immediately offered to trade for it. I figure looted magic equipment is something the party should about.) imgur link: https://imgur.com/Vxc7I4A The towns themselves are populated with people and I have put their jobs as part of the player visible name as I figured the party would have an idea of what the townsfolk did based on a glance and could go up to investigate and get the npc's journal entry after interacting with them. This is just one of the many wholly unique civilizations you can come across in this game. Details: The graphics are as seen above and all NPC story based dialogue is delivered through text within roll20. 90% of it is scripted out before the game starts so it still moves at a good pace and allows the party to look back at prior conversations easily. I use discord for ooc discussion and answering general questions but speaking is not required. Some players have wanted to use the forums or discord chat rooms for side things with characters and I am flexible with this. I use a pre set array for stats and am not overly picky about classes but will favor players selecting classes or races from the players handbook since that means you are making me learn fewer rules. I like considerate players like that. If you are looking for a game built around arguing rules instead of exploring your character this will not be a good fit. Please ask any further questions below! Thank you for your time. -M This game is now full. Thank you!
