The king is dead, the capital burns, the war is over, but your adventure has just begun! I am looking to build a party for a homebrew game I previously ran in 4th edition D&D. Unfortunately 4th edition stopped being cool even before I joined roll20 in 2016. So I will run it in 5th edition! (But could be convinced to do pathfinder, or 4th edition since we weren't going to be cool kids anyways.) Starting in a kingdom split by revolution with the party members on the wrong side of the war for reasons we can discuss. Your first few sessions will be spent working together to escape the country and stumbling into an open world with multiple civilizations not typically seen in d&d settings within a lovingly crafted setting which has been refined over the past year. I work with my players to tie your characters into not only the weekly sessions to make sure you have what you are looking for in an experience, but into the overarching plot of the game. Actions taken carry over from session to session with meaningful long term rewards and consequences. Depending on what the players do you may doom all those you meet to being crushed under the heel of invaders, bring about a coalition of city states into a new unified country, or drift off into obscurity. The end of the game depends on you and your actions. If you are interested please post a character name and concept, along with the dates you would be free for a session zero to talk characters and setting. If we move fast enough through character creation I do not mind doing a bit before the game with your characters so that we can get a feeling for their personality and if need be game mechanics. An example of work from the game I intend to open up to you can be seen below: Multiple towns comprised of their own political factions which can be seen on a world map with between fifteen and thirty npcs per village. Each Npc has their own entry pages, quests, and stats. The npc entries are usually player editable so you can write down notes or information you learn as you play the game. imgur link for a clearer picture: https://imgur.com/Xqv8IMq Gahu is the heir to the goblin city, and one of her primary quests is that she needs to find someone to rule by her side. The party could help decide the fate of the goblin town by aiding competing goblins to seek her favor. This can help push the town towards what is considered civilized, or send it spiraling into chaos should the party opt to sabotage the process. Nora is a pc character from the last game and apparently liked Gahu enough to edit the entry for the other players in the party to see. Each town has its own economic system which means they value different goods or services at a different base rate to other towns and I use a google sheet with a hyperlink reachable through a journal entry for players to buy items and have an idea what goods could be sold for. I also gave my magic weapons journal pages and noted within the journal for all to see who is carrying what. (I found my wizard wouldn't bother telling the close combat characters that he had a +2 greatsword of fire... but after the journal updates the fighter immediately offered to trade for it. I figure looted magic equipment is something the party should about.) imgur link: https://imgur.com/Vxc7I4A The towns themselves are populated with people and I have put their jobs as part of the player visible name as I figured the party would have an idea of what the townsfolk did based on a glance and could go up to investigate and get the npc's journal entry after interacting with them. This is just one of the many wholly unique civilizations you can come across in this game. Details: The graphics are as seen above and all NPC story based dialogue is delivered through text within roll20. 90% of it is scripted out before the game starts so it still moves at a good pace and allows the party to look back at prior conversations easily. I use discord for ooc discussion and answering general questions but speaking is not required. Some players have wanted to use the forums or discord chat rooms for side things with characters and I am flexible with this. I use a pre set array for stats and am not overly picky about classes but will favor players selecting classes or races from the players handbook since that means you are making me learn fewer rules. I like considerate players like that. If you are looking for a game built around arguing rules instead of exploring your character this will not be a good fit. Please ask any further questions below! Thank you for your time. -M This game is now full. Thank you!

Ariameia Nurril S'thovo Date: Tuesday, 11:00am to 2:00am EST. Anywhere in that time frame. Gender: Female Race: Infernal Tiefling. Class: Sorcerer / Draconic Ancestry. Background: Noble. Description: A younger tiefling belonging to a wealthy family of sorcerers. Ariameia is of the middle children and out of line to receive the family fortune but is determined to become the head of her family by showing her skill in sorcery... when she gets it. She has pink skin and two long black horns protruding from over her brow that have a slight curve backwards, making it a little difficult to wear hats and helm without poking a hole through them. She can be prideful of herself, sometimes even arrogant, yet she tends to know her limits when the time comes. Shes quick to take hold of the nicer looking things and forms a collection of them, some regard her as a kleptomaniac at times but she would say otherwise. Hi, I'm a fairly experienced player with about 1 year of gameplay but I've been forever DMed with all of my groups so I've been trying to get into a game as a player. I love the concept that you have with working with players to integrate themselves into the world and give them better character development, I try to do the same thing in my games. I won't be a back seat GM or be annoying with my character, I know what annoys plays and try to steer away from those actions so you don't need to be wary of my klepto character stealing from party members or boasting of her achievements nonstop. Thank you for reading and hope you would invite me into your game.
Aria, Thank you for your reply. I sympathize with the forever dm syndrome. :) Please fill out: " along with the dates you would be free for a session zero to talk characters and setting." I like to let people try out my dming style and have character sheets set up before the first official game. I would rather take some extra time on my end at first to work with my players in character development instead of slowing down the first session with character sheet questions or any other questions which might come up. Thank you! -M
It has been updated my friend, and I'm down for a session 0 to work out some things.
Hello, I would like to play a human wizard (necromancer), Chromus the Dreaded, if you still have spots left. Tuesday nights would work well for me. I can usually do a meetup session late night any weeknight or sunday during the day. Thanks ahead of time and I really hope I can join your campaign!

lucky for you I keep a bunch of character concepts on back order for 5e... I won't post them all, but here is one of my character concepts I have on back order. Name : Reese Stimisk Gender: Male Race: Hooman Class: Fighter Age: 19 Alignment: Chaotic Good Background: Sailor (That will be evident though if you read Backstory blurb) ---- Personality Trait: I work hard so I can play hard when work is done ---- Ideals: (I personally choose two, one from each alignment aspect) Freedom-- The sea is freedom, the freedom to go anywhere and do anything Respect-- The thing that keeps a crew together is mutual respect between captain and crew ---- Bond: I was cheated on my fair share of the profits, and I want to get my due ---- Flaw: My pride will probably lead to my destruction Dates Free for Session 0: Monday n/a, Tuesday at 8pm till 1 am next day, Wednesday free from 8pm-11pm Thursday-Friday contact w/e, Saturdays and Sunday free between noon-10pm. Core Concept: I've always like taking a concept and flipping it on it's head... The trope of fighters are blind idealistic (sometimes narcissistic) warriors who have excelled in their fighting style of choice. So I wanted to make a fighter where in the beginning he was "out of his element" Backstory: Born from a far off coastal region his mother a sorceress and his father a bard... It was a disappointment when he had no aptitude for magic. Still though he was loved and raised along with the other children at the tower. From an early age he was picked on for his ineptitude... but he never lost heart. He doubled his efforts focusing on his martial prowess and applying his intellect in other pursuits and it paid off. When he turned the age of 9, he was old enough to work. He was sent off to be the coastal guard for the secluded school. One day he was browsing the wears of a supply ship known as the "Maiden's Fancy" who was delivering scrolls of transmutation to the school. It was typical to send the children guards to do this task... they were small so they could fit into tight spaces, plus if they were attacked; they were deemed expendable. Upon his walk-through he discovered that they were carrying books associated with necromancy that were hidden well within the crates, Reese did not inform his superiors about his find, and instead warned the captain. He knew that the captain must not of known about these books and likely was being the Mary Sue of someone else who needed to "misplace" this product quickly. When he told the captain Aumilla Proud, of the swindled goods. She was impressed by the boy's insight to notice the difference; and even more impressed that he didn't immediately blame her; after all she was a Tiefling... an easy scapegoat. When she asked him how he knew, the boy admitted he knew it wasn't her doing... Not because he didn't believe in stereotypes; but rather, he strongly believed in stereotypes. She was a bit confused by that statement. He then specified, if it was going to be the work of a Tiefling; they would of been much more methodical and careful. More than likely, this was a work of a human who thought that he would assume the worst of your people. She was impressed and admitted that to be the case... then did something that he wasn't expecting. She offered him to come aboard and work on her ship and mumbled something about "if only he was a few years older". At first Reese was skeptical... he was old enough to work, why would working on the ship be any different? On top of this, the tower was the only life he knew. But with some coercion of his father after asking for his advise. His father told him that when a pretty woman beckons for your company, you should always make a point to follow. If he didn't do that, apparently Reese wouldn't be here... He didn't really understand but he took his father's advise and decided to go. Reese promised his mother that he'd write her every now and again so she didn't worry. Over the years Reese grew to love the "Maiden's Fancy" and the crew. The sound of the crashing waves, the gull of the seagulls, the sight of the sun rise in the morning and fall in the late evening, the laughter of the crew and the friendships he made. This was beyond a job, he found a family. It was a hard life, but nothing that Reese couldn't handle. He was a boatswain, to cannon cocker, to navigator, to the scout. Others from the crew nicknamed him Lil' Crow during his 6 years of service on the ship, since he made his home in the Crows Den. Reese got to see many different countries that he wrote about to his mother. Later on Reese learned the ins and outs of the trading system and informed Aumilla that there will more than likely be a war going on at "INSERT KINGDOMS NAME HERE" in the next couple of years due to their current leadership and policies. It might do well to provide them with war provisions by exploiting fluctuations in the other kingdoms' economy to get a hold of provisions. Aumilla and the crew looked at Reese's plan which he laid out very well and they unanimously agreed that this was a good idea. Took the next 3 years of their life and gathered the provisions and Aumilla sent word to the kingdom that, like Reese predicted, were very eager to get a hold of said provisions. Aumilla sat around the table with everyone else who were all spinning tales and fantasizing what they are going to do with their share of the profits, while drinking themselves stupid. The captain paid no mind since soon, they'd be able to restock that supply and then some. Aumilla joined her crew in the festivities and when it got around to her turn to say what she'd do with her share of the profits. She told them that she'd like to go fix up ship to go to Twilight Grove... an island that is surrounded by sharp rocks and mountainous borders. But it is rumored that it is a place of unequaled beauty. Reese woke up after passing out in the barrack's table to the sound of cannonfire and his fellow crewmates going to battle. Reese accounted for the kingdom's need... but not their greed and trechery. The kingdom blacklisted the "Maids Fancy" as a pirate ship and convinced their guards that their goods that they were delivering was THEIR artilery and aimed to take out and hurt the kingdom. Reese got to his feet and saw many of his crewmates abandoning ship to escape the carnage while other's manned the cannons and attempted to fight the armada. Reese fought alongside his crew except he saw there was no way... they were being surrounded. Reese told Aumilla that they need to take the ship and ram it into the docks. Aumilla refused to listen to Reese and demanded that the crew keep fighting. Reese reluctantly obeyed orders, their ship was boarded and many were kidnapped. The crew was then forced to watch as their "Pirate" Captain was sent to the middle of town and burned at the stake as an example. The crew was forced to clean up the area after the spectacle, something inside Reese shifted. This shouldn't of happened; he didn't want to believe it was... He was hoping that this was just a bad dream; it wasn't though. He gathered the captain's ashes and kept it with him... He'll get the money that this kingdom owes them... With interest. He also vowed he'd make sure that he'd spread the captain's ashes at Twilight Grove, it was the least he could do. Many of them were sentenced to forced labor while others were sent to prison. The lucky ones abandoned ship... Reese just hoped that they were okay. What happened to Reese though... Well, that's a tale for another time. Side Note: This is merely one of my character ideas I'd like to run and it gives a good insight as to how I make characters. I also have a concept for a paladin, monk, and priest I wouldn't mind running... all with different alignments and a similarly well thought out backstory. So whatever the group wants me to play or what general alignment the group as a whole desires to run. I have a concept that will fit.
Character Name: Zorc Date: Anywhere between 2:00 PM EST and 3:30 AM EST on Tuesdays work for me. He doesn’t know how or why his parents died, but rumors around his village say that they actually ran away for adventure. Zorc took up the role as the protector of his village as he is considered the largest and strongest Goliath there. As years go by, Goliath becomes more and more curious about his ast and what happened to his parents. And so with the blessing of his uncle and the entire village, he set off to try to find his parents. Hello M! I found this post and I thought your home brew adventure was very interesting. Although you might already know, I am fairly new to tabletop RPG’s, but I am not afraid to eagerly learn what I don’t know about the rules and concepts of your game and I am not afraid to role play either. Although I am fairly new, I know the basic concepts of 5e and a little on pathfinder, but I am more comfortable with the 5e ruleset. I hope you will consider me a part of this crew and I will be looking forward to your adventure if you do consider me!
