Monsters dragged in from compendium don't auto roll damage when using attacks.

Not sure if this is a bug or I'm not doing this right - I added several monsters from the compendium and everything works great except none of their attacks auto roll damage even though I've compared how the attack/damage rolls that the monsters that came with the game are set up (because they work) with the ones dragged in from the compendium and I can't find a difference. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or if this might be a glitch? I thought they had been working before last weeks roll20 outage, but not a hundred percent on that. If you're willing to help me figure this out let me know what specific info you need. Or If you know off hand why the attack rolls aren't working great, please let me know. I'd love to solve this before DMing my next session. Thanks!
Do you have the setting set to Auto Roll Damage inside the Game Settings (outside of the VTT)?
Hi, Kyle, thanks for responding. I did not have Auto Roll Damage toggled on. However the characters that came with the game still roll damage without that toggled on. With that in mind, as a test I just enabled Auto Roll Damage to see if that fixed the issue, but it did not. It was worth a shot.
I did some more testing and I just can't tell any difference between the weapons on the monsters that came with the game, i.e. the ones that work properly, and the ones that were dropped in from the compendium that won't roll the damage. I'm either missing something or there's a bug, my backup of the game yields the same result.
update as this may be relevant- I tried dragging in new additional monsters that weren't in the journal before I noticed the problem and their weapons work correctly. But the ones I dragged in a few weeks back for random encounters don't work. The only changes I've made to each of them were in updating their token art and profile art so they weren't blank. I am going to try blanking out the character sheets completely remove the monsters I added and re add to see if it will fix the issue. If anyone has similar issues, or any ideas for a better solution, or knows what's happening feel free to post.
The reason for this is because the Game Settings that you adjust will apply to any NEW characters created after saving the settings.Previously existing tokens are not affected, which is why you didn't see a change until you created a new character. If you want to update pre-existing characters, you can click the Apply Default Settings button from the Player Settings (inside the VTT, the right most window in the chat panel, the button is towards the bottom of the screen). Keep in mind that when you click this button is will update ALL characters, including PCs. But you can manually change the PC settings back through the individual Character Settings since there should be far fewer of the than NPCs.

Ah, thanks, that makes sense. I will try that now... Update: Okay, so I did tell it to apply all settings and it said it did even ran through the pop ups and warnings about it did the progress bar, but when I went into the character sheets to check auto roll damage wasn't changed. It did add the dex modifier setting that I also changed though, but whatever the reason the important thing is I realized that you can manually change that setting from each NPC character sheet, which for some reason I thought only the PC sheets did, because the settings gear icon doesn't show persistantly on the NPC sheets you have to mouse over and I didn't remember how to access those settings. So, problem solved! Thanks Kyle for the help! I wasn't sure it was a bug I sort of assumed I just didn't understand how this worked, and it turns out it was that, and now I know. Awesome, all ready for next session now. Thanks again. Update 2: I went back to game settings to confirm I had them right but it didn't show the auto roll damage as being enabled so that was probably my error. I enabled it again, saved re-launched and applied and this time it worked as intended. Again, thanks!
Awesome! I'm glad you were able to get it working. If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. This community is amazing in how quick it responds.
