Thanks for checking out this post. I'm putting together a Vampire: The Masquerade game, using 3rd edition rules. A bit about me, first. I've been STing Vampire: the Masquerade for almost 20 years, and playing nearly as long, with a smattering of Storyteller and player experience in the other Classic World of Darkness lines. I currently am Storytelling another VtM chronicle that has been ongoing for 5 years, and don't prefer to put a cap on the timelines of my chronicles. If it's going well and everyone is having fun, why stop? I have an expectation for players to respect the line between IC and OOC, and to be respectful to the other players in the game. I have a lot of experience with introducing new players to the system and setting, and enjoy the opportunity to introduce Vampire to those who haven't tried it yet. Setting is Calgary, Alberta, 2018, from a Camarilla perspective. This is an RP-focused game, consisting primarily of politics and morality plays. Some light combat is possible but should not be expected every session. This will be played by text, and preferably with some pose-crafting. Basic Premise: The Sabbat was forced out of Calgary in 2016, and the Camarilla moved in. After a two year contest, a Prince has finally risen and a Council of Primogen have settled into place. Players will portray the roles of fledglings having been Embraced by Camarilla arriving to lay claim to the domain while the Tradition of Progeny was still loosely enforced, and find themselves becoming increasingly embroiled in the power plays of elders. Requirements and Limitations for Concepts: - All characters must have an active sire, and will be unreleased. You should have some idea of who your sire is and why they Embraced you as part of your concept. - Acceptable clans are: Ventrue, Toreador, Gangrel, Brujah, and with special approval, Tremere and Nosferatu. No bloodlines, independent clans, Sabbat clans, or antitribu. All characters must be vampires. - Characters will have to be between 13th and 11th generation. - Please don't build a character around a specific merit or flaw. I don't completely forbid them, but I do restrict them and require approval for any. - Preludes will be necessary. - Characters will have been Embraced roughly 2 years before the start of the Chronicle. I'm open to being provided backstory to fill that time, so long as it includes at least a basic understanding of how to feed, the Traditions, and basic "Vampire Social Graces 101." PVP is restricted but not barred; the characters can work against each others' pawns, for example, but outright combat between characters requires some significant RP support. Please don't submit completed character sheets of any kind; I use slightly-different-than RAW character creation rules and would hate for you to waste your time. I'm looking for people to submit character concepts with a few details in regards to overarching personality, goals, and motivations in Calgary, with a couple of details about a sire. We're looking to start as soon as we have a couple more players, and will begin by scheduling one-on-one Preludes. Phew. Well, if you've stuck with this post this long and are still interested, please PM me with your application concept and we can go from there. Thanks for reading.
