In systems like DnD, the GM may want to hide certain information like AC and saves. However, waiting for the GM to thumb through a dozen character sheets to see whether the monster got hit or not or made its saves slows the game down. Same for the GM wanting to attack players who might take a few moments to respond to a request for an AC or save. What this suggestion does is make it possible to create macros that query sheets without worrying about giving away too much information. A player can roll their attack and damage roll for their greatsword and the GM can immediately see the AC of the monster they're trying to hit and tell them yes or no. A player could cast a spell with a Dex save and the GM will see the result of the monster's roll without needing to look anything up. Systems that use dice pools like Shadowrun 5e can automatically roll a target's Dodge without spoiling the target's probable stats. And it does all this without interfering with PC's, NPC's, and monsters the players are already familiar with, making their own rolls public automatically without any fiddling on the GM's part. It'd be an option the GM can set in case the GM doesn't want that information hidden.
