LFP The first Game is slated for 19 May but almost any day until then to go over history and character generation. The game will be: NOT PC but that doesn't mean that the group is closed to anyone, just realize that the game is: 18+ as it will deal with things known as life and just how bad it can be in reality Roll Playing heavy Science Heavy No "goals" for Players - The Universe moves on and the players impact or lack thereof is based on character actions (ie sitting in a bar complaining does zip) Bad words could be used, often Characters have a back history and rivals, incidences where they succeeded or failed spectacularly Bring a sense of humor, quick wit, and imagination The system is a mixed bag of Classic Traveller, MegaTraveller, and Mongoose Traveller. The setting is Earth, 2305 using the HYG Stellar Database: http://www.astronexus.com/hyg And Exoplanet Database: http://exoplanet.eu/ http://exoplanets.org/table/ with slight changes for game play, usually a few more "Goldilocks Planets" but you won't find any planets orbiting an O2 Super-giant If this sounds like a game for you, take a look.
Here's a synopsis for you all: Looking for a slightly modified (tech and setting) Traveler game? Here it is. Striker Rules Variant, Ship Technology more granular, set in 2300 without the 2300 rules or background. If you like "The Expanse", this is the game for you. If there are players ready to go earlier, I'll be happy to move the game sooner. In the year 2305, Humanity is now supposedly united under the auspices of the UCP, United Confederation of Planets, or as it is lovingly referred to as "ConGov". Unfortunately, humanity is still divided by old blocs, economic needs, ideological purists, ethnic divisions, and the like. Now the last vestiges of these hold-outs are threatening to tear apart the united government and destroy the peace it built between these blocs. What could be even worse, there is evidence of new ones forming that will prove to be even more relevant than the old divisions and begin the cycle again. Standing between the the continuation of the Earth-centric and the this dissolution is ConGov. ConGov draws from all of the blocs of the human inhabited worlds, those that are "free planets" (much to the irritation of many "colony worlds") and the blocs that form them. Still it is an uphill fight as ConGov is thought by some as the savior that will unite humanity, others as demons from hell bent on stealing the livelihoods and freedoms of those under its yoke, but most feel it is just another incompetent bureaucracy that taxes way too much for stuff they don't want to pay for; they honestly don't use it, or worse, that it just gets in the way of progress. But now rumors of threats outside charted space are getting too loud to ignore. From the proverbial "Grey Goo" that eats anything to create new versions of itself, to alien invasions. Some feel these are just lies from ConSec, Confederation Security, sly ways to increase ConMil, Confederation Military, budgets. Then there are others who "just know" they know facts and evidence showing the Grey Reptilians from Praxalar 5 have finally arrived in force. The Reptilian overlords it seems have been subverting human governments since that day in 1950. There are even rumors of super advanced military hardware in use from recovered alien crash sites in the backwaters of oort clouds that surround most, if not all, stars. What is the truth, if any? From tramp traders to corporate vessels, the sleek para-military vessels of ConSec and the burgeoning bloc fleets, take a spin to explore the stars and make yourself a good living. From the depths of barely charted space, get on a cruise liner and go to and from the vacation spots, such as the idyllic Earth based Caribbean bloc and their incredible standard of living, while avoiding conscription into a corporate hell hole. There, you'll spend what ever time you have left in a company sweat shop until you die in some long forgotten asteroid,. Get lucky and find the adventure, wealth and fame are there to be had and you to take. Then again, the odds of certain death in a leaking and damaged vacc suit as you are flung out of a doomed ship even more likely for those who try too hard.
