Ancient Rome Basic Roleplaying 4ed interest?

Just checking interest for an Ancient Rome setting of Basic Roleplaying 4th ed. Was thinking of putting a small group together for a campaign, that will be set in the Roman Republic and will revolve around a political intrigue/combat/magic mix of historical setting and exaggerated fantasy interpretations on Roman 'magic'. This will use the Basic Roleplaying 4th ed. core book and 'The Life and Death of the Roman Republic' sourcebook. If i get appropriate interest i will plan more in-depth. New players will be welcome, and any experience will be greatly recieved.
I haven't actually tried before, but I'd be more than willing to try out, time permitting. Which period in the Roman Republic are we aiming for, roughly?
Was thinking middle to late, make things a bit more interesting and incorporate some of the better technology and developments the Romans had. Have plenty of campaign ideas but just need interest from people to begin putting something together.
I love this idea however I am in GMT time and I have never used that system. I do love the idea though :)
Game would be in GMT+13, though could adjust times to suit.
I'm definitely game for this! I can do 9 PM if that's fine by you.   =)
Keen as, just need a few more :)
Huh. Not entirely sure I'd be able to handle the time, then. GMT+1 myself, so it's offset by 12 hours whatever we do. That'd be mighty hard to schedule.
Could work out for 8-12, 8-12 but yeah its still difficult.
What are the allowed professions? Can I be a Mercator?
Allowed professions are in the BRP Rome supplement book. These are as follows: Artist, Athlete, Banker, Barber, Beast Hunter, Beggar, Bodyguard, Bureaucrat, Charioteer, Craftsman, Dancer, Dilettante, Diviner, Doctor, Farmer, Gladiator, Labourer, Lawyer, Legionary, Magistrate, Merchant, Musician, Philosopher, Poet, Priest, Prostitute, Scholar, Shopkeeper, Senator, Slave, Tavern Keeper, Teacher and Thief. Not sure where you got Mercator from?
That's the Latin name for the Merchant as it appears in that book.   :P I was thinking maybe I could be a horse merchant or something in those lines...
Sorry, was a little tired yesterday, fully missed that. Absolutely, good idea!
I don't know the system very well, but I'll try to create a character from scratch. Let me know if there are any optional rules, like Education and stuff, and whether I can choose any Power or not.   ;)
Can I use these for my characteristics or do you have a different way for rolling stats?   ;)
