4e Tuesdays during the day. Newbies welcome! cst

I usually don't work on Tuesdays and would like to run a game during the day, like around 10:30am-4pm sometime in that timeframe. The first session we could go over character creation if you are new to the hobby I'd love to introduce you to a fun game! All you need is the 4th edition Players Handbook for D&D, and a character sheet, preferably an online one so I can check your math. I do run a long ongoing campaign that I've created myself, for this game I'll most likely be using premade adventures. We'd start at level 1 and go from there, I don't really have any expectations but if we can complete 1 or 2 adventures I'd consider that a success! So, expectations... Have the Players Handbook, read at least the 1st chapter and take a glance at the races/classes section before we begin. Be polite and helpful, I'm gearing this for newbies, but if you're a vet it'd be nice to have you on board. Let's all be respectful of each other regardless of gamer experience, race, gender, creed, etc. And keep language to a PG-13 rating max. Be available Tuesdays, it'd be great if we can do this 3 out of 4 weeks a month. I know it's kind of an odd time to play, but if you think you can make it let me know.
Ryan, I'd like to join you. I'm kind of a newbie, but not really. I'm DMing a game for my friends on roll20 now (We're running "Scales of War"), but I haven't actually been a PC yet. So I'm looking forward to playing. I could help you with the newbies or I could be hands-off and enjoy playing. I've got the core books and DDInsider. I'm generally free on Tuesdays and could attend 2-3 times a month. Just to clarify, what time zone are you in? Thanks.
Hey Chris, Thanks for the response. It'd be great to have you aboard. It's a fun break for DMs to be a player for a little while, so I hope you'll enjoy. I am in the central standard time zone. I know ddi has lot's of extra options for players, like themes, backgrounds, alternate powers etc etc. I want to keep things simple so probably won't use a lot of that. Otherwise, it does have a good character builder to use, so that's good.
I am very interested as well. currently laid off of work and looking for some daytime activities. Experienced 4e player and dm, currently dming a fun campaing irl. will we start playing next week?
I'd be interested I ran a DnD 4.0 game last summer. I only have the PDF's for the books is that okay?
Thanks. I should have seen the time zone in the title. I'm EST so I think it will work out. As for ddi, I can stick to the basics. I have a Half-Orc Ranger and a few different Halfling characters I would like to try. I could play any role and fill any gap that the party may have. Depends on the setting and the other PCs. If you have ddi, then I can just export my PC file for you, or I can post to http://iplay4e.appspot.com/characters Let me know if you have another preference. Do you have a limit on which books? Personally, I like to stick to PH1, PH2, and the Powers books (Martial, Primal, Divine, etc). Obviously, I'll stick to whatever you say.
I'm interested as well. I am totally new to tabletop gaming and roll20, if that's alright. I have the handbook (pdf) and have been reading up on how to play (Dungeons and Dragons for Dummies is a helpful book) and perusing various sites trying to learn what I can before jumping in... About the time, are you saying the game would start somewhere between 10:30-4 or would last that long? I am free until 2:30 EST so if it runs that long I'm afraid I'd have to pass.
Kane- Cool, thanks for your interest, yes I think we could start next week. Casey- PDFs are fine. Welcome! Chris- That's cool. I'll work out exactly what's allowed and what isn't. I have access to ddi too. Oh one of my friends said he is playing a scales of war campaign and really enjoys it. Matt- That's awesome that you are trying out this hobby. Again, PDFs are fine. I've not read the for Dummies book but I've seen it at the bookstore. in regards to the timeframe, that is when I'm available. I doubt that we would actually play a game for that long. So it looks like we have several experienced DMs for me to challenge and a new player to bring in to the fold. Anybody else interested? You guys have friends that could play? Otherwise 4 is enough. Let's make characters next week and maybe a combat trial to make sure everything is working correctly.
I'd be interested, but I have to warn you I may not be available every Tuesday. I am not sure if you are looking for someone who will be available week to week.
P C- I won't be available every Tuesday either. Sometimes I may have to work, but it's usually my day off. I don't think I've ever run a game where every player could make it every session. Do you have any 4e experience or are you a new?
Hey Ryan. I am a complete and under newbie that looking to start playing. I've never used roll20 before, nor have I played any tabletops before. I do have the 4th edition PDF, so I'll read over that a few more times before we start. Heck, I even made an account just to post here, just to show how new I am!
I am so in! I have lots of 3.5/Pathfinder Experience, and I've dabbled in 4e so I'm not entirely new to it, and I've been on roll20 a while and this fits in my available time perfectly! Send me a PM I would love something like this!
If you can do 10am to 2pm cst, I'd be down for this. I work third shift and go to sleep at 2pm cst.

Looks like you've got enough people at this point, so I'm a tad bit late to the boat. Still, if some people leave (which is almost a certainty around here), keep me on the line as a replacement.
Preston- Awesome thanks for expressing your interest in joining up. We'll do a character creation session on Tuesday so we can help you out on making a character and how to play. Taki, JohnathanTheBlack, and Mustardo- It's great that you all can play at this time slot too. I do think 6 players is about my limit, but I'm planning on running shorter adventures so maybe we can all play in the same campaign, just not all at the same time, right?
I'm a newbie, and I would love to show my interest in this. The day/time just isn't right for me. :/ Funny how that works. Well, if you ever run a shorter adventure during Fri-Sun, please let me know! ^___^
Ryan, I might gracefully bow out and let more of the newbies play. It looks like a lot of fun. Maybe I'll catch you on the next run.
Ryan, I'm a returning player (Been 6+ years), but I'm really looking to get back into some games. I just discovered the r20 community. I'd like to join up in this game, but I'm curious, how exactly does it work? Is there a piece of software I'm missing? Is it a G+ hangout? Let me know if you have room!
ShieldWarden-I know it's an odd time to game right? I hope you find a weekend game to join. Alright Chris- Maybe we'll see each other on here some other time. Adam T. -I'm fairly new on here too. While we might use G+ hangout, it isn't necessary. The game would launch from this site. Think of it like a virtual tabletop, where we would upload images to represent our characters and monsters and maps on a grid for combat when necessary. It includes a system of randomly generating #s for dice rolls as well as video chat. (though sometimes the chat doesn't work perfectly.) I'm sending you a link to the group. People are already working on their characters.
