Can anyone tell me how to get the player tokens to appear on a new map when I bring a new map up in the game? I'm hoping you don't have to physically find and place the player tokens on each new map. Is there some way to make it easy?
I don't know whether this is easy or not... I select all the tokens on the old map (Shift click on each one // or drag to select them all) then copy. Click on the new map and paste. All the current stats are kept. You PC are generally all in one place, so easy to find. Zoom out the map if they're scattered.
Chris, I've tried that, and I can select tokens, and then copy them, either by right clicking or Ctrl-C, but when I then switch to the new map, and try to paste, nothing happens. On both maps I am on the 'object & tokens' layer when performing the copy / paste commands. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Dungeon Master, occassionally there is a bug where pasted tokens shift down and right (sometimes quite far away to the down and right). I would check there. If you continue to have issues with it let me know. :) - Gauss
I have to say this is the single biggest annoyance with an otherwise almost totally awesome experience. This seems like a very basic 'must have' - I should be able to say 'Copy all player controlled tokens to this new map'. If you are DMing on the fly, it's a major pain in the behind to deal with this, especially if the tokens are all over the place.
So what many people do is have a landing page with all the player tokens, then you can jump to that page easily to grab the tokens. If you tie the token stats to character sheets then they will always be "up to date" and ready for a quick copy/paste.
