Looking for players - New D&D 4e game

My name is Mat and I will be running a D&D 4e adventure. I seek 6 players (I have 2 already). The game will be held (almost) every week on Thursday from 1930 to 2330 local Brisbane QLD Australia time (UTC+10). So for NSW players it would be 2030 to 0030. I am yet to lock down the adventure but it will be a pre written module, most probably something from the early years (Tomb of Horror, Dwellers of the Forbidden City, Keep on the Borderlands are in my short list for example) that I will convert to 4e. (I was never able to play these games "back in the day" but figure better late than never) I am fishing right now to see if I can find 6 interested players. Once I have my players I am sure we can get started that week or the next. We will be using google hang outs and launching the Roll20 game from there (if you are new to this I can provide instructions). All players must have a cam and voice comms and be willing to use them. This is not going to be a text chat game. Character Creation : Any 4E D&D character builder legal character is allowed. I encourage those selected to talk amongst themselves to manage party balance. We will be starting at level 22. I will be using a stat point buy system and allow players to choose their own magic items up to a point cap (but will vet all items before allowing them). The Rules : No Evil characters allowed. Because this game will be a module that exists pretty readily on the internet – you should also possess the willpower to not read a copy of it – it spoils the fun :) If you have already played the module selected then that is fine but exercise the discipline to not “spoil” for the rest of the party and just enjoy the way the game plays out). If you do not think you will be able to make most games, arrive on time and stay for the duration then please do not apply. I understand that the real world interferes with our games sometimes and that is ok. But if you cannot commit to a regular schedule lets both avoid the unpleasantness of me kicking you. If you think this game is for you please PM me listing the following information : Who you are and a little bit about your role playing experience (let me assure you – inexperience is no barrier to entry). Your top 1, 2, or 3 preferred classes to play in order (it makes no sense to stack the party with people who only want to play a rogue for example). Anything else you think might be relevant. Thank you for the taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you soon. Mat K.
If you'd like to get the fun and feel of those old modules in 4e, but don't want to spend a year converting them, you might consider starting at level 1 and running the players through the Chaos Scar modules (a spiritual successor to Keep on the Borderlands) which goes to about level 13, then switching over to the 4e Tomb of Horrors book (10-22). Converting old modules to 4e is very very very time consuming because of the myriad of tactical considerations that old modules weren't designed for. You basically have to rebuild every single encounter from the ground up, and that includes the floor plans, because those claustrophobic dungeons and caverns do not work very well in 4e. Shot-for-shot remakes will result in very lackluster encounters for the most part, despite how compelling they may have originally been. Just something to consider!
I am not sure if you have gotten much response yet but the time may be restrictive as a lot of players are in the US and Europe.. Personally I would like to join you but am only available 9pm+ CST (GMT -6). That makes your game staring 3:30am for me. Those in Europe and closer to you may have better schedules though. If the time by chance changes feel free to reach out to me. Good luck and happy gaming!
Riddle : I have already converted a AD&D module to 4e and you are dead right - the old way does not translate well to the dynamic encounters players want from 4e. I am happy to do the work however to try and make it interested. Spazz : Sadly mate I live in Australia and this is the only time I can play :(
