[LFP] (5e) a struggle to survive, thursday nights

hello everyone I'm here today to begin putting players together for my new project, a 5e campaign to meet weekly at Thursday evening at 9pm est. a few core things: discord and a mic are required to join up, this will be quite a roleplay heavy game so if your shy or only care about your stats maybe this isn't for you, this game definitely will not be for everyone due to its rough setting and certain elements I'm adding to make this campaign unique.  The setting: this campaign will take place in our modern world, starting in April of 2018 as a matter of fact. Our campaign will begin roughly one month after a horrible nuclear tragedy which formed zombie like mutants in California which then spread in typical zombie fashion to all of America, presumably the rest of the world. you will all take the roles of survivors trying to just survive, forming large groups for protection or keeping it small to properly manage food and water. you will encounter friendly people along the way who are willing to help you or give you some spare food and you will encounter vile people, deceitful and murderous all well horrid twisted creatures lurk around you. it will be a physical and emotional struggle to survive.  some mechanics to consider: to meet this campaigns grim gritty setting I will be using some things not from the 5e ruleset in order to create an interesting experience. firstly we will be using the gritty rest which states a short rest is 8 hours of sleep and light activity and a long rest can be around 4 to 5 days of light activity and sleep, the purpose of this is so the sort of severity and harshness of the setting is ever present even well short resting this also makes it so spell casters are very very valuable and spell slots are a finite resource, that bajillion damage fireball from your wizard becomes a very important tool only to be used when you need it. another less important thing is called Desperation, which states all players regardless of class may choose to pass a check or save in exchange for a level of exhaustion.  characters and applying: again discord is a REQUIREMENT to apply, as this will be a tricky and somewhat hard campaign new players probably wont fit in this setting. when it comes to character creation everything from the PHB is allowed, any races from volos guide to monsters, anything from UA (including modern magic) and any RACE from dndbeyond, critical role content from dndbeyond will NOT be allowed. when crafting a character i have 2 requirements, the characters place of birth (pick a state or country or city) and their former profession. the most interesting character concepts will be chosen to play.
That's an interesting premise, and I like the idea of using the rest rule variant. How long do you intend your sessions to run on any given night?

How long do you intend your sessions to run on any given night?  roughly 3 hours, I'm in a weird part of the GMT timezone so 9pm est is like 11pm for me so we call it quits like 1:30am my time where I'm just dead at that point
Sounds good, I’m in EST and midnight is my cutoff, so that works.  I’m pretty much open to playing any character builds, with a slight tendency to make characters with high charisma.  Do you have a game page for applications?
