Hi there! We are 4 players + GM currently looking for a few more players to make a full group. Our group is currently half and half male/female With the exception of myself and one other player everyone here is brand new to RPG but not to the concept. What they lack in experience they make up with being supremely nice and easy going people. When is it? Sunday every week at 19:00 CEST / 10:00 AM PDT / 13:00 PM EST Sessions last for 4 hours. Note: We do not play on sessions where anyone is missing. Then that session is cancelled as I do not wish to puppeteer another player and it creates a great deal of inconsistencies, apathy for characters and all kinds of trouble. What is it? D&D 5th Edition Classic High Fantasy RPG, No gunpowder however. Well built custom setting. I have been a GM for 25+ years non-stop in just about any system I have come across but D&D 5th Edition is new to me so bear with me as I make my way with this system. I have read it and I have played previous versions of D&D so it is not all brand new. I am new to Roll20 mechanics even if I have been using it for some time now (as we use theatre of the mind) I try to be as descriptive as possible and supplement with pictures and artwork. This is roleplay not rollplay This game use Custom Rules and the GM has final say in anything rules or otherwise. This game is not a platform for sexual innuendo or overtures, that being said this is an adult setting and if you can watch and partake in incredible amounts of violence you can also accept sexual mature content so if any of this galls you do not join this game. This is not a politically correct platform, you have been warned. - Just be aware that neither is this setting bent on provoking you or trying to make you uncomfortable either this is merely informative. Attention! Since this is a true freedom of choice game and a true sandbox game it uses theatre of the mind mostly so if you are looking for tokens, and hex/grid maps to fight on and dungeons to be pre-built with all the niceties Roll20 offers this is not the game for you as it is impossible to predict where players go it is also impossible to have a dungeon ready in map terms. Is it free, or do I have to pay? No pay to play, it is 100% free of charge and always will be. Who can join? Must be 18+ Years old. People with no RPG experience are also welcome albeit it is expected you have some notion of what classic fantasy looks like in form of novels, books, games etc. We are also looking for people who are looking for possible long term commitment to a campaign and good internet companionship. We are looking for people with a positive disposition, an open mind and who leave the attitude at the door. All genders welcome. You must observe and practice the art of commitment (if you like what you see and pass the interview). We have no interest or tolerance for people who do not attend the sessions we all agree to have. We do not demand anything but fair treatment. If you cannot make it to a session, it will be expected of you to inform us in reasonable advance. Real life racism, sexism, or any other discriminatory behavior is unwelcome and will get you removed (in-game is a different matter, setting is harsh and not for people looking for “political correctness”). Must have a Roll20 Account or make one (free). Language or geographical restrictions? English language mandatory, but nationality/location can be anywhere as long as you can comfortably attend session times. Text, Voice or CAM? Voice Only (Discord), Push-to-talk, no mouth-breathers :) - CAM can be optional? if people so desire down the road this is however not a priority at all and will only ever be a thing if every player want it to be. What do we offer in turn? A very informal and relaxed group but with focus on a serious and committed RPG experience for adults and a place for mutual respect and willingness to help. We do not really believe in such a thing as too many questions or "stupid" questions. - last but not least hopefully an immersive RPG experience and a lot of good times! Will I be joining an ongoing Campaign or a brand new one? While you will be joining an existing group, the campaign is brand new, so you get to be here from the beginning, that is of course if we fill our spot before it goes live. Is there still time? When does the recruitment drive end? Sunday the 3rd of June 2018 - Before RPG listed time, we will conduct all applicants/interrested parties the very same day during listed RPG session time. So if you are impatient to hear from us, hold tight this will be the day it is all sorted out. The important bits: People who are reserved, or do not truly want this need not apply. We have not the time to enter a tug-of-war with people resistant to the concept or people with glass-is-always-half-empty dispositions. People who are easily offended, has too much of a "chip on their shoulders" or need to always be right, or who argues everything need not apply at all, the same goes for "flighty" people or people who does not understand the art of commitment. We expect you to be stable, punctual and serious about your time commitment to us. It is perfectly fine to cancel a session or even ask for a week off if you do not feel up for it for any or no reason at all but be sure to communicate this in a timely fashion so people can use the allotted time for something else. Important! Power/Meta gamers, rule lawyers, fantasy professors, argumentative players need not apply at all. This will not be a game for you. How do I get in/first contact? #1 - First reply to this thread, let us know what you think of all of this. #2 - Make sure you confirm if you can make it for Sunday the 3rd on session time (interviews will be conducted at that date at normal session time listed above) so we can conduct an informal interview where we will be talking about us, what the campaign and system is like, the vision and hopefully answer any questions you might feel the need to probe us with. This will also determine if you are a good fit for us and us to you as well. Should take no longer than 15-30 mins or so. #3 - For immediate questions, curiosity or any other informal affairs feel free to PM me here Character Creation Do not make your character beforehand, while I can certainly appreciate the effort and even commend the initiative we are looking for everyone to be together to make characters together and talk to each other about choices and so on. You are expected to start the game as a group who share the idea of being a force of good in the setting, you are of course free to play your character any way you want but we are big on team unity here. Recognizing this is a group effort and as a result of that people must learn to get along and understand why being an evil git does not work well within the scope of the group or vice versa. PvP will not be allowed, if the situation has deteriorated to this level then it is time to let someone go. If the listed races or classes or anything else you expect to be here are not listed it is because they/it does not fit the setting (at least as far as player choices go) and is therefore omitted for a reason and will not be a matter of argument. Player Races (Your choices) - Human - High Elf - Wood Elf - Mountain Dwarf - Hill Dwarf - Rock Gnome - Half-Elf - Lightfoot Halfling Classes (Your choices) - Barbarian - Bard - Cleric - Druid - Fighter - Paladin - Ranger - Rogue - Wizard Note! Subclasses will be discussed during character creation and as all things I will have final say in the matter, but as long as it fits the narrative and setting I am generally OK with it. Stats Roll 3d6 X 7 (Discard the worst result) You can place your stats freely. No buying of stats, we embrace flaws in characters. More information on character creation to come tomorrow!
