You boarded the *Sea Witch* with such aspirations and found kinship with those who did the same. Fame, fortune, glory, adventure... these were the qualities that bound you together. You climbed aboard her shiny wooden hull, running your fingertips along the rough edges and marveling at the construction of it all. Your first night at sea was the most restful you'd felt in years. The gentle rocking, swaying, and creaking of the vessel at deep sea was just a reminder of your old life slowly washing away, swept by currents into the horizon. It had been a warm day and the ship was in truly deep waters. A storm brewed, but it wasn't anything you hadn't seen on your voyage so far. You shut your eyes in your bunk and sunk into it like a babe being cradled by a warm hearth. And you slept... ... ...and awoke to a **CRASH** and a thunder-like **CRACK**. The tearing and splintering of tree-width beams and hinges like they were nothing but twigs was immeasurably loud, the chaos and swirling violence of it all, it was all happening so fast, there was crashing all around you, crashing into you, the sounds of alarmed shouts, you were being crushed, were you upside down?, what was happening- and before your eyes had been open much longer than a moment, you'd been **SLAMMED** into the black water. You could feel the icy and merciless fingers of cold water reaching the bottoms of your lungs. In confusion and pain you knew that you were going to die right here and right now. It all went black... ... You awoke once more to a fit of coughing and pain. It was a miracle you still lived and breathed, but here you were despite how impossible it might seem. The night was still in full effect, but the storm was abating and simply drizzled gently onto the soot-colored sand upon which you laid. As you sat up, you surveyed the horizon to be full of dark trees and mountains. You sat in contemplation, still coughing to expel what little water remained in your lungs. There were shapes moving in the darkness and you realized that you were not alone. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/117940/16-bit-pathfinder-the-dark-continent 18+ but I don't expect it to go much beyond PG-13 in the foreseeable future.
