of the North Going to run a one-shot Pathfinder game next Monday, 7pm EST. Could turn into a weekly affair depending how it goes. Game Concept Viking RAIDERS. Your one goal - loot and plunder the known world, and beyond! GOLD GOLD GOLD!!!! BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!!!! Begin the adventure in a small independent Norse community as young raiders, eager to make a name for yourselves and bring home great plunder! Game will be based loosely on historical fiction - some things will be changed (ie - you won't be attacking defenseless communities, that's too easy lol). Everything you attack will try to kill you, and sometimes succeed lol. If the game becomes weekly, there will be possibility to develop your own settlement and become true regional figureheads and people of renown. Variant Rules Game is adapted for historical fiction (800 AD) with some variant rules. - NO MAGIC AT ALL! None, even if you want to roll a hybrid magic class, like ranger, you need to archetype out, or drop the class if this can't be done. This greatly limits the classes you can choose, but any archetype in an allowable class is fair game. Paizo books only - no 3rd party content. - Pathfinder wound/vigor system instead of standard hit points - My own "Armor as DR" system. Armor doesn't increase AC, but soaks a % of damage depending on type, including a "minimum soak" per type. Shields, dex related bonuses do increase AC. The system works well, so no, this doesn't mean that the entire team will be DEX based. - Humans only! Roll for stats - 5d6, drop lowest two rolls, arrange as desired. 150 Gold to buy starting gear. 2 traits. Level 1 to start, with FAST XP track. ANY ALIGNMENT!!! Please note - inter-party conflict is very much possible. It might be your companion's axe that kills you in the end. Not necessarily, but the choice is there. This is not an "evil campaign", but is set within the everyday gritty realities of viking raiders... and sometimes it just got messy. We're pulling out all the stops for this one. Why play a mickey-mouse AP when you can experience a nail-biting gritty game? If interested, plz make a character in mythweavers and add to skype. natethegreat976
