A glimpse of movement out of the corner of your eye. Was that a voice? These are things we brush away and ignore. Have they been happening more frequently? The cold must be getting to you; that terrible cold. It's been a long time since anyone has enjoyed the sun's warmth - going outside has become almost a death sentence. 32 days ago The Harbinger docked for a routine cargo pickup and the situation there was terrible. Refugees paying a life's possessions for a trip out of there and stowaways have been found hiding in every corner. A lot of jingle could be made to just hide some family in a can. Enough money to not ask too many questions. It was cold when we arrived at port, but it only got worse. A day into the voyage and the cold becomes impossible. A storm came out of nowhere and hit like a hammer. Then the comms went static... on every channel. As did the GPS. The navigator tried to keep a straight bearing but the instruments winked out one after another. Then the sea - the fucking saltwater sea - was seen beginning to freeze around you. You rubbed your eyes in disbelief... Then the ship lurches HARD. You can hear the terrible squeal and grind as she runs aground. Everyone is thrown about and explosions can be heard. She cracks down the middle from the stress amid a cacophony of steel and screams. That was a month ago. Today there are only 113 of us who remain. There were more. Some have gone missing, including the captain. Others have died: the accident, dehydration, malnutrition, riots, and squabbles of all kinds over the dwindling supplies. Shore can be seen, but expeditions haven't gotten far. There's the promise of food and supplies there, but is it worth the cost in lives? And there are rumors of a mysterious container - the cargo we brought aboard - lost and submerged from the crash, now underwater and covered over in ice. How will you survive in this? Mondays, 6 CST. 21+, voice over discord, Apocalypse World system but no experience necessary. Players are expected to be friendly, considerate, and respectful. For those unfamiliar with Apocalypse World, it's a narrative-focused game with fairly light rules. It's not about adventuring parties, quests, or combat; there are no turn-based grid battles, nor orcs that need killing. There are humans, and humans can sometimes be shitty at each other, but rarely will that result in fights to the death. The game is about people, some friendly, some shitty, all of them interesting, and how you deal with them. We currently have a Waterbearer, a Savvyhead, and an Angel who reside in this ship-turned-community. We're looking for one more before we start. Either PM me with details about yourself, how the campaign intrigues you, and what you can bring to the game, or reply here with the same info.
