Hello! I am the dungeon master of a group looking to have two players join our current adventure on the high seas. Our fourth player is unable to play with us due to scheduling conflicts and so we are branching out seeking new blood. We are set to run on Fridays at 8:00ishPM EST (We tend to start at 8:30 sometimes) to midnight every week and are a fairly amiable group of fellows. Most of the group is fairly experienced but we are keen on accepting folks from varying levels of expertise. As for campaign specifics, here is the backdrop for the campaign: Central Conflict It has been thirty years since the fall of Eagon the Eternal , the last Great Emperor of Arcadia and Hero of the Maldavian Wars. Under Eagon's reign, the noble houses of Arcadia were abolished, the dragons of Arcadia were cast into hiding, and the western coast of Arcadia was united under a single banner. To many of the commonfolk, Eagon represented law, order, and justice. His deeds became the talk of legends and bards alike. However, with his rather unexpected death, his court of followers were forced to decide the fate of the Arcadian throne. With the empire quickly falling into chaos, Eagon's followers broke into fighting and split, beginning what is now known to many as the War of the Sorcerer Kings ... World Specifics Divine vs Arcane: Arcane is considered by many to be a godless magic stolen from the deities before the Heavens were created. Most of the clerics in the Arcadian pantheon scorn the use of Arcane magic but that does not mean that the world is without it. Custom Pantheon: Contrasting the 5e Pantheon, the World's pantheon is vast and diverse. The handout lists a few in the religion section that are well known and/or are traditionally practiced but it's very well possible that your character could be one of few dozen followers for an obscure or forgotten deity. Campaign Specifics Point-Buy: ( https://1-dot-encounter-planner.appspot.com/point-... Races: Core Rulebook + Volos Guide to Monsters Classes: Core Rulebook + Xanathar's Guide to Everything (If you wish to try something from Unearthed Arcana, just run it by me first) Starting Level: 5 Start with either a +1 Magic Weapon OR a Magical piece of Armor and 300g Here is a link to our Handout: http://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/SyWou8Y3f The party is currently allied with the Salizar Legion (See Handout). The party's composition at the time of writing this is: Varian Ivanov, Half-Elf Sorcerer Kostya Ivanov, Human Fighter Tamryn Ivanov, Human Wizard Ship Name: The Ol' Girl Comment Below If you are interested, please leave a comment below giving a few ideas of what you are interested in playing, what your experience is with 5e, and what sort of aspects you tend to enjoy in a campaign.
Hi Sean and Friends I am very interested in this game and actually have experience with playing a game that partially took place on the high seas! Considering your party composition I was thinking of playing a Monster Slayer Ranger or a Drunken Master Monk or a Swashbuckler Rogue, last but not least I could also play a Zealot Barbarian. My experience with 5e starts right around when I ended my first game, which was pathfinder. I was looking for another game on this site and got recruited for my first session. I've loved the system ever since. This would have been around six years ago or so, and since then I've played many games of 5e. So far I have three full campaigns under my belt. I tend to enjoy roleplay, bantering with the others in chat or on voice, combat and generally experiencing a fantasy world. Anyway thanks for reading and I hope you have a good game regardless if I'm picked.
I've been playing 5e for 2.5 years, most of it as a dm. Its far easier to get a game going as a dm compared to a player. Other then that I have very little experience as a player. What I enjoy out of campaigns are options with consequences and a good story. I love campaigns that allow us to do whatever we wish, even if it means skipping something important and then that something we skipped come back to bite us. I have a few things I would like to play, the first one is only if you would allow homebrew. A stout Halfing gunslinger. Otherwise I would be interested in playing a half-elf college of swords bard, a Lizardfolk/Firblog (havn't really decided) circle of the land druid, or a Triton/Aasamir (again havn't decided which) hexblade.
Yello, im very interested in this. Never played a sea faring campaign before, literally have never actually stepped foot onto a boat in dnd before now that I think about it XD. The idea I wanna go with is Monster Slayer Ranger, or a cleric for the first time, both have healing spells to make up for the lack of healing. I tend to enjoy the RP and the combat sides of the game,I like there to be an equal mixture of both. Do you guys use Discord btw?
