Complete Noob want to learn and play

Hello. Been watching some D&D and been wanting to give it ago but none of my friends are really into this sort of things then found out you can do it online. iv read a few things about D&D. anyone got a game starting that allows complete noobs and that runs on weekends. and able to talk me through what kind of Character i will need to make please.
