The
Cursed Fellowship is a rules-light adventure with open ended elements.
It is set in 1501 and is in my own custom world that will utilize some
DnD world building elements. We are
using a standard 5e ruleset, with a few Homebrew rules to keep things
interesting. I am a first time DM and would prefer newer players
as it is less pressure on myself as a DM but am open to allowing more
experienced players if there is a limited amount of backseat DMing and
rules lawyering. I am completely fine with you guys correcting me on
certain rules as long as it's in a friendly manner. Four players is a
sweet spot for me but I may feel inclined to allow five players, we will
see. We will be using point buy and there will be a mix of theater of
the mind and battle maps that I have custom created. We will be utilizing voice chat via Discord. The Setting!- A little backstory: 1353,
the sun vanished from the sky and was replaced by a red moon which was
also known as the blood moon. The sun has not returned since, bathing
the world in a permanent crimson sunset, in a constant state of limbo,
never in complete darkness or sunlight. It was at this time that
mutations began to occur. It is said that about seven percent of the
worlds population are mutants and more are born each year. These mutants
can range from having a standard body deformity like a hunchback to
having extra limbs or even having animalistic features like fox ears or
horses hooves. Those with this genetic condition slowly mutate
throughout their lives until they do not resemble their former selves.
Some worship these mutants as Demi Gods, some wish to experiment on them
to harness their awesome power and some simply despise them because
they are different. It is now 1501, Your adventure begins in a Drow
Concentration Camp. Taken prisoner by an evil Drow organization known as
the Enclave that wish to experiment on you in an attempt to harness
your mutant gene. Each day the Drow takes something from you, whether it
be a chunk of flesh or even a finger. It is up to you to escape these
fanatics before you draw your last breath. When
accepted into this game you will roll a D100 which will determine your
mutation. I will allow you to roll up to three times and pick from the
three. This will be your mutation for the campaign, it will provide you
with some kind of ability or stat bonus. Playtime!- Weekly 8:30pm EST on a Saturday. People of all nationalities are welcomed. (We will be starting the FIRST OF JULY and may allow a brief session 0 if needed) Your Character!- You
will start at level one. Your backstory is up to you, however I would
keep it brief as this game is based in a Homebrew setting. Tell me a bit about yourself First Name? Age? How long have you been roleplaying? What race/class would you like to play? What is the ideal balance of roleplay to combat for you in an average session? If your character had some kind of mutant deformity, what would it be? What is your favorite TV show and movie? (this is just so I know people have read it :P)
