A Very Special Episode

I was fortunate to play  A Very Special Episode as part of last weekend's Roll20Con. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I got to say it is a total blast. Besides the fact the artwork is superior to just about anything else I have seen on Roll20, it's the storyline that really gets you. In what other game do you get to play two characters: an actor, and his corresponding show character. The story is amazing and the creator has covered all the details to a T. I was totally blown away on how well put together everything was. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a fresh new one-shot give this a go. You won't be disappointed.

Nice, Alf! I got to play it over Roll20CON also, and would back up what you said and recommend it too. This is a Sci-Fi one shot, with great humor potential and awesome original art, map, tons of tokens included.  If you kind know what the phrase "TV Tropes" and "movie tropes" means, and intentionally bantering about tropes and using them in-game sounds fun to your brain, this is the game for you. Contact me if anyone wants to play AVSE, as I will probably organize another play-through next month.
I played in this game also and had a really good time!  So much so that I bought the full Custodians of the Galaxy game from the marketplace.  Once you get you head wrapped around the fact that you're playing an actor that is playing a character on a TV show you can let your creative juices flow.  One of my favorite mechanics in the game is a sort of "Mad Libs" aspect  where the player fills in the blank to control the direction of the game.  I could see this system being used to run anything from Sci-Fi to a straight up Sitcom TV show.  You can go as gonzo or serious as you would like to take it.
