Scoundrel? Scoundrel... I like the sound of that. A Heisty Space Opera Game
It never quite goes as planned, does
it? You and the crew are again caught up in the churn, but fortune
favors the bold, and that's you. Enemies are piling up faster than
allies and there are always expenses to be paid – the ship always
needs work and if you can't have a little downtime for yourself, what
the fuck is the point? It's a dangerous life, but it's the one you
were born for, at least born into.
A successful caper means credits for
repairs, living, and whatever makes living worthwhile. Maybe even
some scratch for that drive module you saw advertised, or if you're
savvy, put some away for when the weather turns - you know it will.
Botched jobs are what keep you up at night, but nobody said this life
would be easy. You'll need to dig deep and get it done. If you don't,
well, just make sure next time it goes off without a hitch. But it
never goes smooth. How come it never goes smooth?
Inspired by Firefly, Star Wars,
and The Expanse, but this will be an original setting. We'll create
details of the setting together.
Focus on characters and adventure,
not combat.
The system we'll be using is Scum &
Villainy, which is built on Blades in the Dark, which is built on
Apocalypse World. It's a narrative-focused game which uses cinematic
action (as opposed to tactical battlemaps) and empowers players to
direct the story.
I'm looking for 4 players - At least one female, some other forms of diversity would be nice as well. Diversity in players creates more interesting and diverse
worlds and games, IME. - Experienced players, preferably who
have GMed before. I don't expect experience with this, but some
PbtA, indie, or narrative-focused game history is wanted.
Fridays, 7:30-11pm CST. I'm flexible
with start/end times, but those times allow both NA coasts. I'd like
to run session 0 on July 6 th . 21+, Voice over discord.
