Rounded Edges on Map Terrain

I'm trying to make a map for a campaign I'm running that features a lake, all my terrain assets are squares, how do I round the edges of the lake so that it doesn't look like a blocky mess? Is there a way to do this in roll20 or do I need to make the map outside of roll 20 and then upload it? Any help would be appreciated.

You could either get some art assets that are made for that (either a complete tile with the whole rounded lake, or a tile set with matching-edges that are rounded in different directions to piece together for your own lake shape) -- both of those types are available in Roll20 Marketplace. http://marketplace.roll20.net/ Or, your second thought, make the map outside of Roll20. A free program to do that is called GIMP, there are other image editing programs and websites too. The thread can stay open for other ideas / input / suggestions from the community on this.

You could take a look at cc3+ which is designed to help people make RPG maps.
You can also use the Roll20 freehand drawing tool to draw an irregular blob of blue on top of your terrain tiles.

Quick, custom, on-Page, looks good if you choose nice colors.
