Auto populating token fields on creation

For new tokens, is there a easy way to populate the default token values? Or change the token values for existing tokens? I am a little tired of manually setting bar 1 to hp_max/hp_max bar 2 to npc_ac bar 3 to initiative_bonus for every monster I create and adding initiative_bonus to the Curse of Strahd monsters. Also need to re-set them if I want to change the token image. I see that there are default settings in the campaign settings but I haven't been able to get them to work.  I see the token defaults in the 'Game Default Settings' in the campaign settings, but I can't seem to set them to a variable value. And then at the bottom, using 5th Edition OGL character sheet, I see that I can put variable names to  BAR 3 VALUE, to a attribute, but it doesn't seem to work for my monsters that don't have a token assigned to them yet. Nor can I get it to work for the SRD compendium drops.

After you set your Game Default Settings, make sure to open "Apply Default Settings" from the sidebar|settings tab.  Although, I don't think you can set attribute assignments to tokens. I think you need an api script(pro perk) like TokenMod or one of the companion scripts written for a specific sheet to help assign token settings.
