20th edition WoD Game (LFP/Queer Friendly)

Welcome one and all! My life has calmed down I am thinking of picking up another WoD 20 th edition game as a Storyteller. I am waffling on what to offer though so I figured I'd offer up some ideas and ask for feedback as well. The games I am willing to run are Changeling: the Dreaming, Vampire: the Masquerade, or Werewolf: the Apocalypse. I will give a few pitches of the types of games I'd like to run! Vampire: the Masquerade X: Sect Camarilla ; Bloodlines only: This game would be about how vampires without the backing of one of the Camarilla clans make their way through the halls of the Ivory Tower. This would be a smaller game of about 3 players since bloodlines are rarer than the Clans. A pretty basic Camarilla game of politics and events that will be colored by the bloodline choices made by the players. X: Sect Sabbat ; Nashville, TN – the Crusade to devour America from the bottom up has gone well for the Sabbat. Currently they have claimed Nashville with the help from a surprising set of allies. Half the State of Tennessee now lies in the grip of the Sword of Caine and they rest while planning to push ahead. You are members from this take over, now jockeying for position in the new stronghold of the Sabbat. X: Sect ??? ; Mono-Clan : I do not know exactly how this game would play out as it heavily depends on the Clan selected to be played. I am willing to offer a mono-clan game of the following Clans and Sects: Followers of Set: Independent Gangrel: Any Sect Giovanni: Independent Lasombra: Anarchs or Sabbat Toreador: Any Sect Tremere: Anarch or Camarilla Tzimisce: Anarch, Independent, or Sabbat Ventrue: Anarch I may allow certain Bloodlines into these games, such as a Lasombra game having a Kiasyd, a Tremere game having a Gargoyle, or a Ventrue game having a Daughter of Cacophony. Werewolf: the Apocalypse X: Hengeyokai ; Osaka, Japan: A story where a sentai of shapechangers are dealing with life in a vivacious location of modern Japan. This would be most like the typical W:tA stories just set in the Beast Courts instead – fighting the Wyrm and Weaver, dealing with urban blight, and other trials. The direction of the story will greatly depend on the Hengeyokai chosen to be portrayed. X: Mono-Tribe ; This story, as above with mono-clan games, would vary wildly based on the Tribe or Breed chosen. I am willing to portray the following Tribes and Breeds: Bone Gnawers Fianna Get of Fenris Glass Walkers Shadow Lords Silver Fangs Stargazers Uktena Ajaba/Bastet Ananasi Mokole X: Breed: Werewolves - All Metis Pack : As the stinger says this would be a pack where everyone played a Metis. Metis are my favorite breed and I'd love to explore how they were treated by other Tribes and how they can overcome these biases. Trying to put some of the horror, if just alienation horror, in the WoD. X: Breed: ??? - Reclaiming the Lost : The purpose of this chronicle would be a group of Shifters protecting, finding, or reintroducing a group of the dying/lost shifters. I can see bringing back the Ao Mokole or Okuma Gurahl for a chronicle, protecting the Ajaba or Ceilican, or trying to find the Apis, Bunyip, Camaztoz, Croatan, or Grondr. I'm willing to run this with: Werewolves Bastet Hengeyokai Mokole Changeling: the Dreaming X Duchy of Graceland; Nashville, TN: I have this game set up but I don't know how many people like or want to play Changeling. If you'd like to check it out the description is  here. What I Offer ● An understanding of the WoD from having played it since 1997. ● An environment of inclusion for players and character ideas. ● A player focused ST who is a fan of your characters. ● A mature outlook and a willingness to communicate. ● A desire to craft a world and homebrew to go with it. ● An awesome taste in music. My Cons ● I have a limited vocal range so NPCs will often sound alike. ● I may not describe backgrounds well, prod me if you need more info. ● I do not know all the rules for CtD and WtA by heart. What I'm Looking For ● A desire to have a character over a set of game breaking stats. ● A desire to add to the world instead of just getting what it can offer your character. ● An understanding that while this is an inclusive place the WoD is a bad place where bad things happen. ● Acceptance of some homebrew and the fact that smoothness may override rules sometimes. So, does this interest some people? If so I can run a game on Fridays between 3pm-12am CDT or Saturday or Sunday between Noon to Midnight CDT. If you have any ideas please let me know or pitch them!
Hi there. How willing would you be to put up with a newbie ? I read the book for W:tA and I really loved the setting, but couldn't find a game. If you have the time and inclination to help a newbie get started I would be plenty interested to play somekind of a stargazer in a werewolf game. I liked the Hengekyou setting the best from amongst what you desribed... although I do have one question: what is hengekyou ? (whoops lol). I don't remember reading that in the book W:tA 20th. I am available on fridays and saturdays at 3pm CDT (10 pm my time). What I Offer A newbie who is very interested in the setting. Not a native english speaker so sometimes I have to think a bit to put to words what I mean to say. Thinks the stargazers are pretty cool. A player whose idea of the Werewolves and vampires has not been convoluted by watching the Twilight Saga. I haven't seen the series guys! Friendly guy who gets along well with most people. I believe we should be a team in game and out of game. Let me know what you think about this. If you need information just DM me here or on discord (munshee#9779). I won't be getting any notices if you replay here because I think with these forum posts only the original poster gets notified. Speaking of forum posts I am also open to the game being played asynchronus or as a PbP. Cheers, Munshee
Hi there, I've been previously in 2 WoD games, so I at least know what I'm doing (to a certain extent). I'd be very willing to try again if you'd like to have me. I'm a great roleplayer, and I enjoy getting the most out of my character  (to the point of trying to replicate what their voices would sound like). Quite familiar with the rules, although I think in my previous games we played an earlier version of WoD (Not 20th ed.) but I heard the rules for 20th ed are a lot more simplified and user friendly. I also have a friend who was with me in both of those WoD games, and he'd be interested in joining as well. If you feel like I suit your criteria, give me an add on discord (Jaime22#4326) and message me, or send me a private message here on roll20. Looking forward to hearing from you, Jaime
So that is one for Werewolf and two for Vampire so far. Still looking for a few more to choose a setting. :>
If the hour is European friendly I would be interested in the VtM Bloodline game, would be fine with the Sabbat. I'm not the greatest RPer, but I try. Discord Andraste#4260
I might be interested, either in the earliest Friday timeslot, or the latest Sunday one. As for me, I'm a veteran gamer (I started in the late '80s). I've been playing, and running, classic World of Darkness games for ages, although it's been pretty quiet for some years lately, and it would be nice to scratch that itch. I do prefer gamers that aren't forming too much of a generation gap, so I'd like to put a hard cap at age 25, and I really prefer people over the age of 35 or so, if possible.  Regarding theme and setting preferences: * VtM: strongly prefer games aimed at politics or mystery, and heavily downplaying violence. Zero interest in games that have pointless gore in it, and little interest in games where people start without a decent score in Humanity, or compatible Paths. Of the presented options, the Bloodlines game sounds most appealing - even though I tend to avoid snowflakes. But it's a nice setup for a game where social nous matters, both in- and out of character. Mono-clan for a non-Anarch faction could be fun, too. * WtA: I'd love the Metis one, for sure, but it will take a pretty good group to pull it off and not make the whole theme a wasted afterthought. Not doubting our storyteller, mind you (it's your proposal!), but I suspect we'll need a group that has some hefty experience thinking about gender identity issues, and that's not everyone. That aside, I can see a mono-tribe game for Shadowlords or Glasswalkers be fun, as well. No interest in Stargazers and non-werewolf breeds. * CtD: yes, please. It's the only one of the classic systems I have not played before, together with Mummy (although I have played Changeling as a setting, using another system, so familiarity is there). I'm very fond of fae themes, for various reasons (which I will gladly discuss in private), and I feel I can do justice to the rich potential of the setting. Very likely my favourite choice of all. A few last notes: * I'm a heavily immersion-focused player, and my "long game" is always psychological in nature. Spiritual growth of the character, political goals, coming to grasp with derangements or one's place in a wyrd world - all these things enchant me. Character power, to me, is pretty much an accidental byproduct of my acting, and I will rarely show much interest in gaining worldly might - although it may occur, of course, and I will roll with the punches in such cases.  * I fit within the LGBTQI alphabet-soup, and I'm both aware of the issues at stake and considerate of my fellow players. In-character, I am fine with rolling with the punches, however, since it's a World of Darkness, and not necessarily a World of Empathy (although moments of grace and acceptance can make the experience all the richer, in my opinion). Further details can be discussed in private. * I might, in exceptional circumstances, try and free up time on Saturday night, but I'd prefer to conserve that for family time. They are understanding, however, and I can try and shuffle things around if things are looking exceptionally promising. I hope to hear back from you.
Hi, I would be interested in playing one of the Vampire the Masquerade games with a preference for either Camarilla or Mono-Clan, but able to play any of the listed options. I have played a large number of Vampire the Masquerade games, both in V20 and revised edition, so am familiar with the setting and general requirements. Sadly I have zero experience with both Werewolf the Apocalypse or Changeling the Dreaming so would prefer not one of those two, but am willing to learn. If you are interested in me then I'd have to echo “andraste's” sentiment about it being European friendly as I'm about 6 hours ahead of you right now. If that's too much of a problem for you then just tell me. I can do Friday & Saturday at the listed times. For Sunday games I'd have to ask for a noon start as (if I've worked this out correctly) starting at 3pm for you is starting at 9pm for me and ending at 12am for you is ending at 6am for me. Ahr ;)
If the vtm game happens in the sunday i might be able to join and would be interested in doing so.
All the options sound great, very interesting, and well thought out.  I can't help but notice you've either got a fondness for Nashville, or are from the Nashville area.  If you are, hello fellow Tennessean.  I'm from not far from Nashville, the rough halfway point between Nashville and Memphis
Oh I forgot to add, I'm available on Friday and Saturday.
Update With what has been chosen and who has responded to me both here and on Discord I have decided to go with the Bloodlines game of the Camarilla on Saturdays starting at Noon CDT. I will get the game up soon and have character creation statted out as I see fit. I will be accepting either 3 or 4 players and I believe Jaime22, his friend, and Andraste are all down. If you would like to try this game you can either message me here, in PMs, or on the game page when I make it. Also: RP Chameleon - I am from Nashville and I usually like Southeastern settings in WoD because I rarely saw them used. Yeah we had early New Orleans, a weird Wraith Atlanta book, and a less than stellar Rage Across the Appalachians yet it seemed most focused on Northern and Western settings IIRC. I also feel much more comfortable ignoring Nashville canon in the WoD than I do say Chicago or DC.
Ferretheim said: Update With what has been chosen and who has responded to me both here and on Discord I have decided to go with the Bloodlines game of the Camarilla on Saturdays starting at Noon CDT. makes overly dramatic dying sounds. "Live your life to the fullest. I set you free." ...dies
