[LFG] Magical Girl Game!

I'm new to roleplaying and don't have a group I turn to in my area. I'm interested in playing a magical girl game but I have no idea what kind of system that would run under. Would anyone be willing to help me get into the hobby this way? I don't mind if it's dark (like madoka) or more like Pre-cure with all the named attacks and cute stuff. Thank you!!
What is your time zone and availability?
EST, would prefer weekends if possible (morning to evening). I'm a freelancer so my schedule changes a lot. I could do weekday afternoons or early evenings also. (12p-8p)
No promises, but I have an idea brewing that involves freeing the inhabitants of your home town from a cursed board game.  It will likely use the Genesys system.  This is a generic game that uses the same engine as FFG's Star Wars games.
that sounds fun! Keep me posted :^)
I running an anime campaign using Hero game system, Magic girls along with Mech are part of it, see background link below Spy High
I would LOVE to help you get into rpg playing in the role of a female Mage. The system i would us would be a modified version of Mutants and Masterminds 2nd edition, but you need not own a copy of the rules, because I do. I haven't watched much anime, so it really wouldn't be based on that. At first, your character would have a definite list of low-powered spells, and guidance of a number of 'elemental pools' so that she could learn how magic works. Then she would learn some modifiers and start designing her own spells, and getting into spontaneous magik. Along the way she would be facing challenges. Should this be in a medieval world, or renaisance, or modern, or future, or what? I can do any. This group does not exist yet, and would probably start as a solo focused on you. Your variability of schedule can be explained with a phasing-curse (which would actually enable her to start with more points than 'normal'.)
Spencer, That sounds great! I prefer fantasy settings or modern settings, if that's ok. The best way I can explain magical girls is -- they are powered by a sense of justice, they use over-the-top cutesy magic items to cast, and there's usually a group of 5 who share a theme (fruits, animals, etc).
