Forum 2 month auto close needs to go!

Greetings, Right now the forums are set to disable comment posting on posts that are older than 2 months old, and this is a horrible practice.   Forum posts often show up in google searches (months or years after posting) when users are looking for help.  It is extremely common to find a post that answers your question but has an issue, things have changed over time, etc. and continuing the discussion is needed.  Forcing users to start a new thread to facilitate further discussion spreads information between too many threads, and creates a situation where every 2 months new discussions need to be started around a single topic. Please fix this, and have older discussions re-opened.  There are no good arguments that I'm aware of (as a forum admin for multiple large communities for several decades) to close a discussion on forums automatically, and rarely is there value in doing so manually unless it goes off topic or there truly is no possibility any value could ever be added in the future by continued discussion. Please, please fix.

As this is a suggestion thread outside the designated forum, this thread will be closed.
