Double check that he is on the correct page and or the tokens are on the object layer. He also needs to be using chrome or firefox.

Roll20 only guarantees that things will work smoothly when someone is using the latest public-release build of Firefox or Chrome.  All other browsers are "If it works, great!".  If the items are on the correct layers and the user is on the correct map page, there is little we can do to help.
