Campaign Questions & a bit of a (game) update

Okay, first the game questions 1) I know that last game session was not a 'master piece of role playing' being (in a large part) a combat. Still, any feedback would be appreciated if there are suggestions to be offered. 2) How much time should pass between sessions? As a rule of thumb, I mean. If a 'battle royal' spans two game sessions days or weeks can not pass between them. I prefer to run games that are serial, meaning that the following game session takes place right after the previous one. It worked for the Incredibles. There were like 14 years between movies and the sequel took place right after the first. If we go that rout we it will take us about a year and a half to work through a month of game time. I'm okay with this if it is okay with everyone else. And now onto game news: I know that the group was doing some research into the 'killer' robot, painter robot(?), and I have news that stems from that article of inquiry. By analyzing the robot parts the craftsmanship belongs to a Doctor Samuel Levy. There is no doubt he built it, he might as well have signed the hull plates. Doctor Levy is a classic mad scientist type. He builds weapons and devices for anyone who meets his price. He is known to live and work in the wilds of South Africa but he sells his wares on the world market so they turn up everywhere. Levy's motivations are Fame and Fortune, and to fund his own private research and experimentation, whatever they may be. Before I go I also feel the need to mention that there is a good-guy weapon and gadget designer who also has a full danger room that can be rented for workouts, special events, and birthday parties. Doctor McQuark's Super Hero Supply Shop and Gymnasium is the name of the place and Doctor Elias McQuark is the name of the man. He is a genius' genius and has a brilliant staff. The problem is he is also mad as a hatter. McQuark will not build lethal weapons, period. If you saw the movie Mystery Men McQuark's attitude and work ethic is very much like Doctor Heller, the guy who made the shrink-wrap gun and the canned tornado.
1. I enjoyed the session. It was a bit railroadie, but that's how a session 1 starts most of the time so it is fine. 2.As for time passage, it should be a case by case basis. During large scale events it can be no time between issues to hours or a few days. During non-events weeks can pass between issues with no problem.

I liked it too, I don't mind some railroading. I've tried games where I made a map and asked players to go free and do whatever they wanted. There are exceptions, but most of the time, players just looked at each other or did something inane. Also, it was a lot easier to prepare 'richer' encounters when it's railroaded. Regarding passage of time, whatever fits your story best, Gene. But...if you leave Shockwave in a base with a computer for too long, he'll start pressing random buttons until something lights up.
The Base is already Shockwave proof....
Uh-uh, that sounds like a challenge to me!

I Uploaded some maps to the game area. Take a look if you like and make suggestions if you want!
it looks good
I'll be plugging away adding things here and there until I get pulled to another project. So don't be surprised it the maps change (especially the secret sub basement). I've been conversing with Aegeta and writing up the Base Character sheet for the warehouse. I suspect that it will be done, if not done to death, by next session.
Yeah I'll be upping my wealth with the XP you gave us, so I'll get you the items ASAP. Work has been killing me lol
Don't forget you can buy Resource Points directly without upping your wealth. Resource Points can only be used for mass produced items available to John Q. Public.
So how do I get High Tech stuff? I am an inventor with a lot of cash and a high IQ could I make stuff?
That is the problem, things that are not available to John Q. Public and are mass produced are special and have to be bought with character points. Gear and Gadgets: (Dark Champions p.264) Standard Equipment: An ordinary law-abiding citizen can acquire without too much difficulty or the need to obtain a special license (or other form of permission) can get. This includes a lot of equipment – many types of firearms, some types of body armor and surveillance devices, and so on – but not most law enforcement/military equipment such as submachine guns, grenades, and advanced body armors. Street-Level Equipment: It is street level if it is low-level industrial, law enforcement, or military equipment not commonly available to low-abiding citizens. This includes submachine guns and assault rifles, many types of explosives, many types of body armor, and the like (but not heavy equipment such as machine guns or anti-tank rockets). It also includes equipment which characters need a license (or other form of permission) to buy, such as some security and surveillance devices. In game terms this availability is a 3 point perk. Military Equipment: It is military equipment if it is mid-level industrial, law enforcement, or military equipment not commonly available to law-abiding citizens. This includes some heavy-weapons (such as machine guns and most types of grenades) and some types of body armor, but not really heavy weapons (such as flamethrowers, anti-tank missiles or the like). In game terms this availability is a 5 point perk. Advanced Military Equipment: Equipment is advanced military if it is too dangerous, large, rare, expensive, or restricted to qualify as Military Equipment. This includes any type of military vehicle or heavy weapon. In game terms this availability is a 10 point perk. Obtaining Equipment (Dark Champions p. 265) In game terms there are three ways of obtaining equipment: Character Points, Resource Points, and Money. [LGS GM Notes: In my campaign I have combined Resource Points and Money into a single entity loosely based on the Arsenal Option. For more information on Resource Points see Dark Champions p. 150] The Hero System Equipment Guide outlines the gear and will aid in calculating the 'real' cost of such items (in game points). For Comic Book tech, stuff that is not available in world world technology, flying cars, laser guns, invisibility cloaks, force fields, etc. is only available using Character Points. No Matter how Rich you are can you buy powered armor such as Iron-Man's. You can buy Kevlar. You can not buy bulletproof spandex but you can buy a cellphone, you can't buy a power ring but you can buy a flashlight. You can't buy a Helicarrier but you can get a car. If you want to get something without paying Character Points for it submit it to me and I will see what can be done with it. I tend to be more flexible than I probably should be.
Oh, that reminds me, when Batman (Ben Affleck) told the flash that his super power was being rich, that wouldn't work in Champions. His Special Effect is that he is rich but just having money would not get him most of the gadgets that Batman is known for.
I thought his power was being edgy :p
Oddly the only Affleck film I can remember liking is/was Paycheck.
