I'm seeing a lot of short campaigns or campaigns with a lot of unnecessary(IMO) restrictions like PHB+1 or race restrictions. I have a very specific character that I want to play. Apparently coming to the table with a fleshed out character is frowned upon in this establishment. I would gladly explain the rules regarding this character if you do not have those books, but I'm firm on this idea. It doesn't need a lot in terms of story hooks, one or 2 locations that can be bent to your setting, visited one time, but i do have a specific character progression in mind. Preferably Saturday's Name - Rain on the Cliffs (Rain) Race - Tabaxi (Volo's Guide to Monsters) Class - Sun Soul Monk(Xanathar's Guide to Everything)(Will also eventually use a Unearthed Arcana subclass for multiclass) Alignment - Chaotic Good Backstory :  Student illuminary for his temple in the Feywild, Rain discovers an alternate translation to his monasteries ancient sacred text, one that vastly changes the narrative of his temple's history and makes it seemingly incomplete. After taking this to his master's, he is told his theories are baseless heretical, commanding him to never speak of it again. He's found references in other texts in the monastery referencing older temples on another plane of existence that were abandoned long ago when they came to the Feywild. Rain leave's his temple with his few belongings to travel to these temples, hoping to find more sacred texts that could bring light to his theory.(i'll explain more to the DM on the text and my ideas)
