wait for roll20 website

the last couple of times I have tried to run a game, I get a message saying something has happened to roll20 and to wait or close the website. I can be on all day long if it is just me or maybe one or two other people, but when there are a few of us, it does this. what can I do to fix this?

Is this message in a red box at the upper left portion of the map? If so, this likely indicates a problem in bandwidth, and is pretty much beyond the control of Roll20. You might want to talk to your ISP or check your router settings. Otherwise the only real option is to do as it says and either wait, or cancel and reload.
Thats is more or less what I started thinking. But it comes up in the center of the screen and only when I am hosting a game on only my computer not on others. I am going to try to lower bandwidth usage in game settings.

I might be seeing it in a different place due to platform, but if it is the Red Box of Doom, that's your best bet. I see it only occasionally, when using wifi on my chromebook.
I will try that first, then maybe try on a different computer. thank you for the help
I started getting the red box of doom when they updated the character sheets. Now it comes up everytime i log in to my module and it takes forever to go away. So along with a whole bunch of other stuff they broke with the update now this is happening too.

If you would like to Troubleshoot this issue, please start a thread for your issue and Mods will provide the troubleshooting steps to work through and report this to the Devs of Roll20 Team. Let's keep this thread for figuring out Jason's game's issue, which might not be the same as yours. @Jason is your game stuck on the black loading screen, or giving the Red Box message a lot?

Its the red box message, and its only seeming to happen when I try to have a group of 4 or more people in my game. when I only have a couple of players in my game while setting up, everything is fine.

The added people joining might have something to do with it, or, surprisingly, that might not even be related to the issue (just seems like it is). The red box is about your computer's connection to the underlying database over the internet. It pops-up when your internet connection or ISP is not connecting to Firebase temporarily. It usually resolves itself and goes away after a few minutes, unless there is an underlying problem. Have you had a chance to try waiting several minutes, and see if it reconnects? You can check the Status page on the day(s) that it happens, and see if there are any Service Disruptions on the "Shard" that your game is hosted on, http://status.roll20.net/ The next move would be to follow the 4-part Troubleshooting steps. This process checks for some common issues and then finishes with generating a Console Log that can be diagnosed for issues. Bug Troubleshooting Steps Please carefully work through to the first three steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues : Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable all add-ons/extensions and anti-virus programs. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeed in resolving the problem, please thoroughly work through Step 4 . (Don't forget the complete Console Log!)

I tried the suggestions and none of them seemed to work. not only did I get this error, but a few other players did as well. we were also getting a lot of sound errors. I am getting very frustrated to the point of looking for another place to play. I dont want to do that because I like using roll20 very much. Im not were I can, but would upgrading help? I dont want to upgrade when I am able to only to have this continue happening.

As Gold said: If none of the above succeed in resolving the problem, please thoroughly work through Step 4 . (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) I'll add that the console log should start from table load-in, which is best done by launching the game in a new tab, and should extend to cover at least one red box incident. Have each player affected do this and submit all of Step 4 reports to this thread.
Thank you. I will do this with my next group game. I just wonder why it happens when me and my group of around 7 get together. otherwise everything seems fine.
